Greetings from the planet Bellingham. I hope all is well with you... In the land of backward driving. It's a typical dreary cloud covered day here... at least it's warm (13 or so).. So... a belated reply to your belated question due to my over all neglect of all things Last.FM.. The trip was wonderful, aside from the dysentery... which helped me to lose 8 pounds.. I would do it exactly the same way next time though.. meaning I would eat at all of those little stalls (just the busy ones though mind you). Driving was really fantastic.... terrifying at times.. I got us lost in Bangkok and we got spit out onto Sukumvit Road, which is the absolute busiest road in the city... complete with interspersed demonstrations for a change in government, mopeds with families of 5, taxis, trucks... etc...etc...etc... The only thing I didn't see much of were other touristy looking folks like me... stupid enough to rent a can from Bangkok.

So then we got our bearings and got a really wonderful view into the underbelly of almost Southern Thailand.. From there, we rented a boat and spent 10 days on the Andemon Sea.. Absolutely perfect.... It's racing season now. I race on a little boat called a San Juan 24. Next weekend, we will compete in the 2014 North American Championships. There will be about 22 of these little guys on the line. Super fun. I like them because they are cheap and won't make you broke when they break. Right now, I am reading Bernard Moitessier's "The Long Way".... It is about the first single handed around the world race. He went around the world, and chose to not go back to England to finish... instaead, he sailed another 3/4 around the world again and went to Tahiti... I'll bet his wife was pissed.. Anyway... That is a great read.. Peace..

Driving on the left side shouldn't be too bad because all of the controls are still the same. You have only shifted your position in the car about 3 feet to the right. It is the apparent lack of respect for traffic laws which will be interesting. Flying out of Vancouver in mid December. We plan to rent a car in BKK and drive South to Phuket over 6 days. We will then pick up a sailboat and sail the Andaman for 10 days. After that, a shopping day in BKK, and then home. I'm trying to pick up a little Thai, at least enough to find a bathroom,,, or, god forbid, the embassy.

Very nice. It was almost like I was on the trip. I will soon be renting a car in Thailand, where they drive on the left side of the road. I thought that would be weird, but when I saw how you guys drive in Sweden (backwards!) I knew I would be able to handle it. Cheers. Thanks for the tunes.

Wonderful that you have a contract to work through. I love a long drive. I start banging the steering wheel to rhythms collecting dust in my consciousness. A long drive can be a personal form of art. For me, it can be poetic. If I'm by myself, it can be magical. A few years ago, I drove from Laramie Wyoming to Seattle, and then from Seattle to Los Angeles. I remember one stretch going through Coeur de Alene while listening to this while a swarm of grasshoppers spattered my windshield by the hundreds. It was many things on many levels.

Greetings to you my good fellow. Hopefully your surroundings are pleasant and all of your dreams are coming true. Me. I'm existing a day at a time, trying to be successful in this test of a life. I've moved the herb garden inside, and I have a wicked tomato sauce on long term simmer. Habanero peppers are still going strong... Kind of amazing, as we have had a string of nights in the 30's (f) that is. this is what I am listening to at this second. I have tickets to see them on Monday... They go back to the formative years, so I need to check them off as a bucket list item. So.... What's new in your alien landscape?

Hi. I hope all is sufficiently satisfactory in your neck of the warming world. I think I will stick to the theme . Because William Shatner has been sent here by God to enlighten our wallets one deal at a time.

OK. It has been effectively damned. I must admit though that I will have to re evaluate the entire nature of our relationship because the entire body of work gracing the contents of this shout page from myself have been crafted through the filter of you being a ventriloquist. I guess some things are not what they seem .

The photo is on the internet...Ha Ha Ha... No really, It is a picture of Norwegian Memorial Beach on the Olympic Coast in Washington State about 20 miles south of the most northwestern part of the country. A great place to spend several days in hail, snow and rain whilst drinking heavily and engaging in good conversation with great people. :)

Greetings from the currently mildew encrusted domicile I call home. I just got back form a several day smoke circle back packing visit to paradise . It was complete with intermittent snow, hail and rain. Extra effort was required to keep the wet mud out of my tent. It was good fun mixed with good people. Anyway,,,, Cheers.
