How's it going man? Had some brilliant waves last week in northern Spain, definitely have to go there some time, beautiful and nice people too. Looks like we'll actually get some surf in Scotland this week as well

Hey Charles, thanks very much for your tip. Looking forward to discovering new music here. But at the moment I haven't got a chance, slow internet in the evenings. Ha, ha, very low compatibility. Because I don't like jazz at all. :)

Chilled working music: Bonobo, Cinematic Orchestra, Boards of Canada, Ten and Tracer, Funki Porcini, Harmonic 33, Dimlite, Fat Jon the Ample Soul Physician, Clutchy Hopkins. That's probably enough for starters yeah?

I understand, I find it very hard to work while listening to music with lyrics so stick to instrumental stuff. Of course, when I'm chilling the MC's hit the stereo with a vengeance!

Yes it was really a piece of luck to see Joe life. My girl friend invited me as a xmas present for that gig, cause I like Billy Brag. It was pure coincidence to watch Joe there as well. And he conquered my soul the first note he sang. I prefer his latest albums as well. Tiny Voices is great as well. As you might have seen I listened to Kindness of the world yesterday again as you wrote of it. It's far more basic than his latest one. Though it's interesting to see his developement. Thinking of his age there will surely be the best still to come :O) Bruce Springsteen was one of my teenage heros... though I have to admitt, that I lost track of him for the time being. Btw. I've ripped my whole collection so I might you playlists of it if you're interested. Only LP's are not yet digitalized.. a future project though.

Hi Charlie, Joe Henry is really a gas to me ... like good wiskey getting better with time ;O) I never heard bout him till last year, when I saw him in germany where he worked as a curator (?) bringing together Billy Brag and Rosanne Cash. Both are really quite different musicians and it was fascinating how Joe managed to integrate them (and himself ... *shiver*) on stage. From then on I was kinda spell bound to his voice and his very subtle, authentic and oh so sophisticated sense for handmade music. Till now I'm proud to have the following albums: Civilians Tiny Voices Scar Fuse Trampoline Kindness Of The World Blood From Stars José Gonzales... well yes ... Veneer I like very much ... but as far as I'm concerned he seems to repeat himself. Guess he's capable of very much more and hope producers will let him and not just exploit him as a one hit wonder. Btw. your playlist seems quite interesting as well. You as well don't seem to stick just to one kinda music. Greetings Rainer
