Ya at metro. The wayouts and knuckleduster were my favorite local emo bands live. Gods Reflex is the best though. I just saw a really cool Maritime video on demand, its the promise ring singers band now. Check out Park Jefferson on bandcamp. Best emo band I have heard in a few years.

If you still want hardcore recs I'd say you can't go wrong with the Faith/Void split. DC hardcore, Discord shit from 1982, top notch hardcore. Void are so crazy, probably one of my favourites ever. And Faith have surprisingly introspective and emotional lyrics, I'd say some of their stuff at least was very important in the development of post-hardcore and emo. They released a later split with more Faith tracks called the Faith/Void/Faith split if you're interested!

no worries! here 'tis: http://www.deepelm.com/bands/index_emo.html you can stream all of them online which is really great, and there's a ton of stuff on there that I hadn't heard of prior to checkin' dis out.
