El Stu: There's a very strong vibe in your charts. Gotta love the thread that runs from Jimi Hendrix through Adbdullah Ibrahim to Miles Davis. I hope you can bring that thread and those like it into the fabric we're weaving over @ Great Black Music. P E A C E > bw

Hey Stu ... I appreciate your definition of stink ... sounds good to me! :) WRT Don Cherry, I've been digging out my Codona recordings lately ... awesome.

And yes, I keep playing Lou Reed’s ‘American Poet’ (live ’72) over and over. Same old songs but the live element gives them a certain buzz. Lou was a dude for sure!

Deerhoof, funkier than a Mr Miyagi on bongos. Eventually I’ll get to see them, maybe even touring the new album which in all honesty isn’t exciting me but various sources tell me they put on a mighty good show. It hasn’t been updated for a while but Deerhoof’s Greg has a mog http://mog.com/Deerhoof

Sobre mim

CHICAGO

I like most genres accept for a few that rub me the wrong way. I tick to instrumental, vocal, organic and cosmic electronic music especially if there is an element of stink which I define as atonal, dissonant, compelling embellishments and beautiful mistakes. You know lots of accidentals instead of predicatable major chord comps.

My primary instrument is trumpet with far out effects and various mutes. Some other instruments I play are various synths such as the Moog, Arp, Yamaha CS-80v and Fender Rhodes. Now days I play these instruments in software and compose music in MIDI with Logic Pro Studio. I have been in 2 bands in my lifetime, Mang and Sumsing, since 1995.

What I play doesn't necessarily reflect all I listen to. I try everyday to keep an open mind and ear to new sounds, cultures and styles. Music truly does transcend the flesh and is the primary art form that convinced me that humans do have souls.

I definitely am not drawn to commercial sounding music and really could give a shit about showmanship and image. I want goose bumps when I listen to you.
