Last week I took advantage of one of emusic.com's trial subscriptions that allow you to download 50 free songs. So I downloaded these albums:
Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit
The Arcade Fire - Funeral
The Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone

I also got some individual songs by Sufjan Stevens, Tapes 'n Tapes, The White Stripes, The Appleseed Cast, and Snowden.

I've listened through The Life Pursuit a couple times, and listened several times to selected songs. It sounds like an album where they wear their many influences on their sleeve, and I like it a lot so far. It's my first B&S album, so I'd love if any fans of them can suggest other albums I might like.

I listened to All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone on my way to work one morning. It'll require more listens before I can make a proper judgement of it, but based on it I'm pretty sure I'll end up liking The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place more.

I think I'm going to end up really loving Funeral a lot. I've probably played the song Wake Up at least a dozen times, and most of the other tracks are similarly memorable. I haven't gotten to listen through Neon Bible as of yet but hope to soon.

I started a new job a few weeks ago and for that I made a mixed CD of songs to play while driving to work on my first week. Here's the playlist for that CD.
