good points about isolationism (i love when people connect the dots between seemingly disparate eras and movements). i was surprised to see scorn reborn as a dubstep artist. the bug, too.

actually, on second thought, their music did have more elements of what came to be dubstep starting with 'succour.' (excuse me, i have 'quique' in my current rotation right now, so i wasn't thinking it through.)

dunno why you deleted my shout, but interesting thoughts anyway (in my shoutbox). i still hear dub (as in reggae) and specifically ambient dub and the other ways in which dub was integrated into electronic music in the '80s and early '90s rather than proto-dubstep in seefeel, but i am totally with you on the mission to get younger listeners to check out the greats of past eras of electronic music (although seefeel have recently regrouped). i guess using an "ambient dubstep" tag is the "lesser of two evils" (not to get overly dramatic) as it definitely brings me joy to see so many young people and people of any age outside of the typical electronic music demographic enthused about the music. we do what we must, right?
