Haha, wow. That was quite a post. I'm flattered! Hahaha. Oh, boy; yes, I have seen Silversun Pickups live, just recently, actually - beginning of the month :) The only bummer was that they were SUPPORTING Birds Of Tokyo. Like .. wha? When I first saw the tour dates and noticed that detail .. took me ages to get my head around why such an amazing band would be supporting those guys. I didn't even stay for Birds Of Tokyo; I'm not a fan. Anyway, I really liked the way they sounded live, although I can imagine many people arguing otherwise. They played so differently than they did in the studio. The rawness and emotion was just awesome. It kinda reminded me of Cold War Kids' live version of Saint John (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnV8QIH3ikM) as compared to their studio album version. People either loved it or hated it. I loved it, and I'm so happy I paid the money for it, because they're one of my absolute favourite bands. Have you seen them before? (:

Life is way too short to listen to crappy songs. But it is long enough to enjoy truly great ones.

We live in a world where each day can truly be said to be “The Best Music Day EVER” because each day has more great music (or at least no less) than the day before it.

I am partial, for lack of terms better, to Alt-rock varieties such as; Punk / Post-Punk / Pop-Punk and Emo-Punk (real Emo - before there was a dress code - when Emo was still a three-letter-word,) particularly, second wave Emo (as in Sunny Day Real Estate / Promise Ring / Texas Is The Reason / Elliott.); I love most Indie-Rock including: Shoegaze / Newgaze; Post-Rock / Space-Rock; Post-Nu-Wave / Indietronica; Freak-Folk; Lo-Fi / Noise-Rock / Post-Garage / Post- Power-Pop; and some Dark-Wave / Goth-Rock (as in originally descended from early-era David Bowie: The Cure / Depeche Mode / Echo & the Bunnymen / The Smiths & Morrissey / Joy Division & the Bauhaus family tree / etc.). I don’t care about “the scenes” with their juvenilia & dress codes - I just love good music. I don't latch on to an particular era of music,. therefore, I disregard the years and seek out great NEW music perpetually. Unfortunately, most people seem to listen predominantly to the same old songs they felt “connected to” during their youth. They pay homage to these tired, trite tunes - becoming more deeply ensconced in a sentimental quagmire - prostrate before the sad shrine dedicated to their glory days. Tempus fugit: Life is way too short - and long enough. Time’s a Bastard; it knows no sympathy. Uncaring, it flies and blindingly fast, until it runs out for You or Who you should be sharing it with - THEN, you know how slow - how cruel - Time crawls.
Listen while we can.
