abnormally attracted to sin the way I want it
Jul 18 2009, 17h42
I bought Abnormally Attracted To Sin the other day.
I had read some reviews and I agreed with everyone - the album had some great tracks, but Tori could have been a sharper cutter when putting it together. I mean, there's some real spicy, nice Tori-tracks, but also some boring ones that would be B-sides if they still "made" B-sides.
So I picked out the tracks I like best, and arranged them in a series so the album is not too long, not boring, with enough space between ballads and cool, jumpy tracks.
ladies and gentlemen, I give you,
abnormally attracted to sin by Tori Amos, the way I want it to be:
1.
Give
Give is like spicy, dark chocolate, and a brilliant way to start this twisty album.
2.
Welcome To England
The first single from the album, and it's awesome Tori-style. It's kinda "typical" for her, but still there is something in between the lines and instruments here. A great track, that should be just after Give. Just listen to them in a row, and you understand that they're just meant to be.
3.
That Guy
To be honest, I hated this track. That was until I saw the "visualettes" that came along with the album. And jeez, this is great, it just needs some listening. I want this now, after Welcome to England. It smooths the album a bit. So you know we're still on a kinda dark and twisty album, from Tori's experimental side.
4.
Starling
Also one of the best from this album. As I said on That Guy, I want this track now, to "keep the taste". Now it's getting a bit boring, so let's cheer up with
5.
Fast Horse
This may be the coolest track on the album. It's a bit more upbeat and "lighter" than the two last, so they balance each other greatly.
6.
Maybe California
Beautiful ballad with Tori and her Bösendorf, the way it should be.
7.
Curtain Call
Okay so both 5 and 6 were kind of "light" tracks, so it's time with someting twisty again and this is it, - it's dark, twisty and catchy. It's like listening to something smelting or evolving into something dark. This could be on a soundtrack for a vampire-movie.
8.
Flavor
This is like a new
Cruel or
Dragon. And I think this goes perfectly together with
9.
Ophelia
They kind of fusion into one another. Ophelia is a dramatic and melancholic track, with what I would like to call a "turning refrain".
10.
500 Miles
I read a lot of s**t about this track, but I like it. It's very poppish, but so cool arranged that you would listen to it even if you hate pop but love the alternative side of Tori.
and as a perfect finish,
11.
Lady In Blue
This passes by like.. a dark jazz club with an audience consisting of two dark fellas. The track is 7 minutes long but trust me, it passes by so quickly. And it's worth it. A great way of ending this for me, an experimental album.
This is nothing like Under the Pink or Little Earthquakes. It's like a comination of the darker sides of American Doll Posse and From the Choirgirl Hotel.
Okey, you read so far and you might wanna criticise me (for bad English, poor vocabulary or) for picking the worst songs on the album. This is all my opinions, the way I like Tori Amos to be. Music is a matter of taste, there is no right or wrong.
Just remember it.
any comments? :) -

Two new CDs!
Fev 20 2008, 18h01
I met -PaperHeart again. :D :D <3
We were in.. three CD stores or something.
I bought:
-V For Vendetta DVD)
-A Weekend In The City (WITH a bonus dvd from Reading Festival 07)
-Ultimate Disney :D Three CDs to 89,-, that's about 30 kroner per CD, and... a little more than 2 kroner per track. Not bad. I guess I have some trouble finding the right album here on last.fm, but I'll tag them right.
Wohooo.
Great day. -
I've reached 10 000
Fev 14 2008, 22h57
My 10 000th track was... I have no idea. I have to find out. I'll notice which song is which number when I go to sleep, and tomorrow I'll count backwards and find it.
It was a song. But I want to know which one.
I love the Killers. They're my favorite band. Of all time. No matter how I twist and turn about it. They are.
They are the band that makes me happy.
They are the band that makes me jump up and down full of energy.
They are the band I'll tell my children about when I grow old. "This was my favorite band when I was a child"
They are the band I have to see life at least one time before I die.
They are the band I regret most of missing. Summer 07. Hove. Fuck it.
They are the band that's on top of my list.
They are the band that took the 10 000th track. -
I've fixed all of my tags - Evanescence
Fev 6 2008, 23h17
Woah, such a mess. When I realized Not for Your Ears wasn't an album, I found out I had very many messed up tags.
Since I've downloaded the early Evanescence (from Fallen and backwards + Anywhere But Home which is impossible for me to get :[ ) with torrents, I had so many duplicates and mistagged songs. I've fixed it now. Took some while.
I ended up with:

(if you wonder: the text that breaks says "Sound Asleep/Whisper EP" or "2001-2002 demos".)
And PLEASE:
-do not complain if you disagree with my tagging of genres in iTunes
-if you think I've done completly wrong, tell me in a okay way, don't scream and be retarded.
I used THIS to tag, so I believe most of my tracks are correct now!
btw:
the ones in the album I just called "Random." are songs I just had to put in an album to show them on my iPod. Most of them are shit anyway, and not even Evanescence who recorded it... ._. I think.
Please comment! (but be nice. :p)
EDIT:
Maybe all the "version"-songs should be "demo" instead? -
Killers reached 1000 and my last.fm is fucked up.
Fev 5 2008, 18h56
It's scrobbling backwards or something. I've been on a long trip today, and I wanted to scrobble/update my iPod. So I tried, in iScrobbler, but it only gets some of them. That sucks! I listened several hours, and to so many artists. I guess The Killers, Animal Alpha, Within Temptation and so on would be higher... I hope it'll fix itself...
EDIT:
So, it has updated SOME of the songs I listened to, but there's so many left! And for some reason, the "Now listening"-thing is NOT_WORKING.
What the f is wrong? :(
Btw, The Killers passed 1000 played tracks today! :D I'm so proud.
