I haven't. They just played a show tonight in Chicago with an epic setlist. They included, Silver Rocket, The Sprawl, Cross the breeze, and catholic block, amongst others. I'm so down for this show on tuesday.

Just read your post of the 10 best post-punk/new-wave bands and could not agree more with your choices. Nicely done :)

Also, Monks. As in the band "Monks". Not the guys with the dodgy haircuts.

Sorry about this late reply my laptops been broke so I've not been online for a while. It's hard to reccomend you anything in the way of punk/post-punk, because your taste in that department already kicks so much ass. However, you seem to have a lack of Pere Ubu, Roxy Music, The Pogues, Liquid Liquid, New York Dolls, 999, The Slits, Au Pairs, The Dictators, Dead Kennedys, and The Saints in your charts so you should give them a listen. After that I would point you in the post-hardcore direction, because that's what I started listening to that after I wanted to move on from post-punk. Real post-hardcore (i.e. not all that Funeral For A Friend shite) is pretty similar to post-punk but just with more energy and a lot of it is obviously influenced by post-punk bands. I suppose the logical place to start off would be some of the earlier bands like Fugazi, Nation Of Ulysses or Rites Of Spring, but tbh At The Drive In was the one that got me into the genre.

Oh! And from my experiences at Massey Hall, they don't allow pictures to be taken. I've seen people like Smashing Pumpkins, Matthew Good, Flight of the Conchords and Jerry Seinfeld there and an usher (if they spot you) will always come over and shine their flashlight on you and demand that you stop. Though, I believe Flight of the Conchords only specified no flash photography. Which is a good compromise. It seems like the only thing an usher can do is warn you, because I have seen one person get caught constantly throughout the show and nothing happened to them.

Oh Gosh yes! Don't give Ticketmaster the pleasure of giving you jacked up extra fees. If you live in (or near) Toronto, you're lucky to be able to get to a local record shop and save a lot of money on your tickets. Kool Haus isn't the worst. I hate Sound Academy more, so it's not all bad. It's just a really large venue. Nothing stadium, or anything, but it's basically a big warehouse. The sound is pretty good, the sightlines aren't that bad. I guess it's because it's annoying to get to, they charge more money on the ticket (than a smaller place like lee's palace)/drinks and with a big venue, it means more people. So more people to block your view, more people talking, taking bad cellphone pictures etc. I have a feeling she's going to put on a really good show, which is why it is the size that it is. She was originally supposed to be at the phoenix, which would have been a perfect match for her.

thank you so much! i saw it at rotate this! for 34 dollars. i went in to talk to the guy and he didn't have it (which was annoying since it was listed), so i assumed maybe it would change. that price is INSANE. I love her so much, but that is too much for me to justify going to the kool haus. which isn't a nice venue.
