Bummer

Set 13 2008, 6h39

Yesterday i noticed in a myspace bulletin that Digitalism, Midnight Juggernauts, and The Juan MacClean is performing at 103 Harriet tonight, aka the former 1015 folsom. I want so badly to go but sadly I can't bring myself to attend because i didn't dare consider mingling my sad sack of flesh in the grace of such fabulously trendy san francisco hipsters. Dear god couldn't you just make me a smidge cooler? That way I could be on lookhowfabulousmeandmyfakefriendsaretakenbymrjohnnycomelatelynightlifepaparazziguy.com

Actually... no. It's because I'm broke and i've already seen 'em. They're good! check em out!

I have to say, I know that those names can/could have drawn a trendier-than-thou crowd, but it really wasn't bad at all. I saw the Midnight Juggernauts before and they were certainly much better this time around (mostly because the set up was different: they're greater as a quasi-rock band) and the Juan Maclean went truly overboard in a wonderous manner when it came to the unrelenting Happy House. Digitalism... strangely enough played twice and they started to replay tracks (but later on, opted for the heavier remixes)? That bothered me slightly, but maybe because that's because I'm a snob, but a friendly one.

I'm sorry that you didn't get to go, but hopefully you'll get to see some of the other good shows coming up (at Mighty, at Mezzanine). Just... don't eat for a week and you can justify your expenses. I'm not wholly serious about that, but going to shows is fun, good exercise and kind of like a rechargeable battery.
