Name your top 10 most played bands on Last.fm:
(I haven't been on here long enough for this to be a TRUE representation, with a couple recent faves trumping some other long term favorites, but it's still fun)

1 Eels
2 Pearl Jam
3 Flogging Molly
4 Cranes
5 The Toasters
6 Led Man
7 Abe Quigley
8 Sigur Rós
9 Spacehog
10 Portishead

Now answer the questions according to the numbers:

-- what was the first song you ever heard by 6?
Just Shy Of The Moon on the Bitjobs for the Masses podcast.

-- what is your favourite album of 2?
I'm not going to go with the easy answer. I'll say Binaural (squeaks by Ten)

-- what is your favourite lyric that 5 has sung?
"I won't play ball, won't do as I'm told
I'd rather be a square ped in a round hole.
Don't let the bastards grind you down"
from Don't Let the Bastards Grind You Down

-- how many times have you seen 4 live?
1, in Chicago at The Metro about 4 years ago or so

-- what is your favourite song by 7?
Light in Gray

-- what is a good memory you have considering the music of 10
Buying their first album Dummy in a small second floor record shop somewhere in Washington D.C. when there on my high school senior trip. That album was my soundtrack while we were in D.C. and still think of the Kennedy Center when I hear Roads

-- is there a song of 3 that makes you sad?
Don't Let Me Die Still Wondering

-- what is your favourite lyric that 2 has sung?
"Walks on his own
with thoughts he can't help thinking
future's above, but in the past he's slowly sinking.
caught a bolt of lighting,
cursed the day he let it go.
Nothingman..."
from Nothingman

-- what is your favourite song by 9?
At Least I Got Laid

-- how did you get in to 3?
Randomly found their CD Drunken Lullabies on display at a listening station in a Borders bookstore. Fell in love with it right away.

-- what was the first song you heard by 1?
Novocaine for the Soul. Ironically, this is from the ONLY eels album of all of them (even the semi-rare ones) that I don't own.

-- what is your favourite song by 4?
Sunrise

-- how many time have you seen 9 live?
twice. Once at the 1996 X-Fest concert in Indianapolis and again on the Tour of Brotherly Love in 2001 featuring Spacehog, The Black Crowes and Oasis.

-- what is a good memory you have concerning 2?
The first time I saw them live after years of wanting to and no visits to Indiana. Maybe 1997?

-- is there a song of 8 that makes you sad?
Hoppípolla

-- what is your favourite album of 5?
Hard Band For Dead

-- what is your favourite lyric that 4 has sung?
Honestly, Cranes songs are more like tone poems to me than lyrics. It's hard to understand much of what she sings but it's just beautiful to listen to.

-- what is your favourite song of 1?
This is almost impossible to pick. I can't bring myself to name a favorite so I'll just name the first to come to mind. It's a Motherfucker

-- what is your favourite song of 10?
The live version of Roads from the Roseland NYC Live album.

-- how many times have you seen 8 live?
Two, Chicago 2005 and Indianapolis 2006

-- what is your favourite album of 1?
Again, nearly impossible to pick one but right now it's the Live At Town Hall album (which apparently last.fm doesn't have in the DB yet)

sorry it took so long to answer this. forgot to check my reply tracker. I can't remember what that shop was. I remember it was small, had at least a couple little rooms, wood floors(?)... It was just over 10 years ago. My mind is a steel colander.
