You're welcome! :DI love Doctor Who and love the character! Yeah, David was my fave and I started watching this show because of him. Then I saw more episodes from the past. DW is not popular in my country :( But I love it! And I love Torchwood :D

Well, I liked both episodes very much, because it is a very good ending for david this way. Everything he build op in his personality, the knocking four times, the dark etc. It all came together. When I saw the first episode, on christmas evening I was very curious about what would happen with the return of the Time Lords.(And i needed to laugh; Ah James Bond.. TimeLord) But I think it is a shame the way they returned for just a few minutes and got send back, I think the new Time Lords would have been a beautiful kick-off-problem for the new Doctor. About the new Doctor, I was a little upset when I first saw him, but we'll see ;). At last, I liked the bit David went to visit his old companions, I liked Jack and Rose's part. And by thinking a little forward.. I think we'll see the Master and the other Time Lords back one day ;) greetz, bassmattie

Andy's eventually went under! They were one of the first victims of the downloading generation. Sad....

I read your 'about me' section. Most times I read a sentence or two and move on... Yours I read from start to finish! My story is much the same as yours (except it started with Electric Light Orchestra and Abba). I am still as obsessive about chart music today as I have ever been. Early 90s... you really didn't miss much. Andy's Records!!! I worked in the Ipswich branch for a year! I have a CD somewhere with every Now album ever produced - though I am sure it is not strictly legal... I remember Now 1 (shows my age). Steve

Haha, I remember WinMX, such a light tool for getting music. But now I'm too afraid to do anything illegal in case the law catches me D: So for the sake of it, I'm clean of all illegal songs =)

Sobre mim

Hi I'm Dawn! I've been collecting music since I was about 6 years old - it all started with Kylie back in 1988 ("Kylie" - Kylie Minogue) - 10 songs and I knew every lyric - I used to sing them all the time. Slightly worrying but there you go. Gradually (and perhaps fortunately) my interest expanded beyond Stock Aitken Waterman pop. We hit the early 90's and though Kylie and Jason ruled the cassette player, I discovered Pet Shop Boys, Right Said Fred, Michael Jackson, Michael Bolton, Diana Ross and Whitney Houston.

But my parents being 50's kids we seemed to listen to more Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, Bee Gees and my parents "Juke Box Jive" LP than anything else. Result = some kid in the early 90's who weirdly knew the lyrics to Halfway to Paradise by Billy Fury.

As I was collecting all the 80's music I'd missed, the early 90's charts seemed to escape my notice - except for the few things previously mentioned. Besides my friends and I were so wrapped up in defeating Super Mario Land and Tetris on the Game Boy and copying Ninja Turtles that we didn't listen to anything more complex than "Deeply Dippy" by Right Said Fred. And even if we did, it was the Turtle Power rap. Yeah. Say no more. (Though it did rock at the time).

1992 - Take That and Party! (Constantly on repeat at my friends house)...

When '93 came along I joined the Britannia music club and started collecting CD's almost every other month. Tasmin Archer - Great Expectations, The Very Best of Elton John, Eurythmics Greatest Hits, Wet Wet Wet - Holding Back The River, Tina Turner - Simply The Best, Michael Jackson - Dangerous, Simply Red - Stars to name just a few.

The mid 90's seemed to be dominated by Now albums to the accompaniment of beat 'em ups on the Megadrive. Meanwhile, before the internet I struggled to find out who sang what and when! I specifically remember hunting for the artists that sang "Eternal Flame" and "It Must Have Been Love!" This in the days before I owned my Guinness Book of British Hit Singles that proved invaluable later.

However Top of the Pops was my main telly event every Friday night in the mid to late 90's and with that came the discovery of the music video - suddenly I'm buying Spice Girls, Boyzone and watching Celine Dion running down the corridors of some old castle on the music channel (apparently it was all coming back to her). Who remembers the BOX? "Music television YOU control!" (I never could get through on that phone line).

1998 - TotP magazine. Steps. Trying and failing to learn dance routines. Trying to tear obsessed friend away from pics of H (ironic really considering what we now know). Randomly doing the Everybody Get Up dance to Five in the school toilets. Now 40 and Robbie Williams' Millenium playing constantly in the Sixth Form common room. Great days.

One of my hobbies over the last 10 years has been to collect top 10 songs of the 80's, 90's and 00's.
My music collection just grew and grew. If I liked it, I went out and bought the CD single from Woolworths or Andy's Records. And I have collected the Now That's What I Call Music! series starting with Now 35 back in '96. In the mid 00's we moved into the digital age and since then, it's been mostly purchased from iTunes and Amazon. These days I monitor the charts on iTunes and new singles regularly for good tracks.

And maybe I still love I Should Be So Lucky by Kylie? :D Something's never change...
