Please rate/comment my video. :) If you want to, feel free to make a video yourself too of songs you never skip. It wasn't that hard to make (even though it did take a while to get the timing and everything right). I just used the Windows Movie Maker that came with my computer.

10 Songs I Never Skip
Fev 16 2009, 21h19
I saw this video on youtube asking people to make videos of ten songs they never skip when they come on shuffle. I've never really done a youtube video like that so I decided to make one. Some of them are top played songs on my last.fm, but I tried to make sure to include songs I really almost always listen to if they come on shuffle (because I tend to skip songs a lot even if they are one of my favorites).
Please rate/comment my video. :) If you want to, feel free to make a video yourself too of songs you never skip. It wasn't that hard to make (even though it did take a while to get the timing and everything right). I just used the Windows Movie Maker that came with my computer.

Best of 2008
Dez 21 2008, 3h00
I thought I'd make an entry of my favorite releases of 2008. Post what you think the best albums were. :)
Forgive Durden - Razia's Shadow
This album is a musical that features members of various bands. I love the whole idea of telling a story through a record and I love that Thomas Dutton (the lead singer) did something completely different for this record than Forgive Durden's other albums. I highly recommend this album if you haven't heard it.
Jack's Mannequin - The Glass Passenger
The Glass passenger was definitely an album I was really looking forward to this year. I always liked Something Corporate a little more than Jack's Mannequin, but I'm really happy with how this album turned out. There's so many catchy and beautiful songs on here. I love “Hammer and Strings”, “Annie Use Your Telescope”, and “Orphans”.
We Shot the Moon – Fear & Love
We Shot the Moon is an artist I discovered this year. This album is a feel good album for me and I love their catchy songs. The lead singer was in Waking Ashland, which I had heard a couple songs by, but never really got in to. My favorites are probably “Julie” and “Hope”.
Death Cab for Cutie – Narrow Stairs
Death Cab for Cutie is one of my favorite bands and I was excited for this album. I like that they didn't just make a continuation of their last album, “Plans”, and tried to go more for the sound on their older albums like “You Can Play These Songs With Chords” (which is one of my favorites by them, I love the rawness of it). Though I don't feel like I got in to this album as much as some of their others, such as “Transatlanticism”, I really like it. Some songs I liked a lot better than others, my favorites are “Cath...” and “Your New Twin Sized Bed”.
Chris Walla – Field Manual
This is the solo album of the guitar player and producer of Death Cab for Cutie. I like that he put out a solo album because I've always loved the albums he's produced. Though I prefer Death Cab, I like this album a lot and “Geometry &C” is one of my favorite songs that came out this year.
Mates of State - Re-Arrange Us
Mates of State is a husband and wife duo that make beautiful, catchy songs that always get stuck in my head. I love male and female vocals together. This was probably one of my top favorite albums this year and I think I might like it more than their previous albums (their older albums are a lot different and I'm still kind of getting in to them, but I think I like this one better than “Bring it Back”). This albums makes me optimistic and happy.
Straylight Run - Un Mas Dos
So this is an EP and not an album, but I thought it was good enough to go in my best albums of the year. The female vocalist, Michelle Nolan, left the band and even though I didn't generally prefer her solo songs compared to the rest, I like how she sounded with John and was curious how the band would sound without her. I thought this EP came out really good and I can't wait to hear more by them (I think they are releasing some other EPs next year). It's hard to choose a favorite because all 3 songs are great, but I love “Try” right now.
TV On The Radio - Dear Science,
I love TV on the Radio and that they're not afraid to experiment with sounds and music. I heard a lot of rave reviews about this album and I think it's an amazing album. It's still growing on me, but “Golden Age” is great.
Fall Out Boy - Folie A Duex
This album came out last week. I'm a big Fall Out Boy fan and even though I've only listened to it once, I love it. I don't know if it's too soon to say this, but I like it better than Infinity on High and From Under the Cork Tree right now. The ending to “What a Catch, Donnie” is amazing with it's guest vocals and I love how the last little clip of their songs is “growing up” because it kind of feels like I grew up with them.
Panic at the Disco - Pretty. Odd.
I love that Panic at the Disco tried something different for this album. Even though I really like their first album, I like this one more right now and I think it has some really pretty songs. I think it would have been boring if they released an album just like their first album and you can tell they matured a lot. I love “Mad as Rabbits” (great way to end the albun), “That Green Gentleman” and “Northern Downpour”.
Punchline - Just Say Yes
Punchline was originally on Fueled by Ramen, but left (I'm assuming because they didn't really promote them a lot) and released their new album on their own record label, Modern Short Stories. I really like the songs on this album. It sounds like their previous records and I'm not sure yet which I like better. There's still some songs I haven't really listened to a lot and they grow on me a little every time I listen.
The Hush Sound – Goodbye Blues
The Hush Sound is another band on Fueled by Ramen. I mentioned I like female and male vocals together in my Mates of State description and that's one thing I like about this band, even though this album features Great, their female vocalist, more than Bob, their male vocalist. Their previous albums featured more of Bob's songs, so I like that they decided to have more of Great, but I kind of wish there were more songs that featured him. Besides that, I really enjoy this album and it's sort of old fashioned vibe and inspiration. I like “Medicine Man”, “As You Cry”, and “That's Okay” the best.

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, not matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Bold out the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is cheating!

I feel like doing one of these surveys. This is really old, I found it an entry written a year ago.

Something Corporate - Watch the Sky
10. How many times have you seen 25 live?

Best TV Shows & Movies
People were also posting best TV shows and movies from 2007. Not music related, but the best new TV show this year for me was The Best Years, which is an amazing show with college aged characters that unfortunately is being canceled, even though it had an amazing fanbase and had high ratings. I also got in to Gossip Girl. I read some of the books, but I like the show a lot more than I thought I would. I didn't see a lot of movies this year, but my favorites movies that came out were Spider-Man 3 and Waitress. I just saw Waitress a few nights ago and loved it. I thought Spider-Man 3 was amazing, even though it got a lot of criticism.

songs of halloween [mixtape]
Out 29 2007, 23h11

I'm in this group on last.fm where we make mix tapes for a partner in the group every month. One day, I want to post all my mixes in one entry because I like how a lot of them turned out. I thought I'd post my Halloween-themed mix for this month. :)
You can download here: [url=http://www.[spam]
*In the zip file, Track #14 is changed to "Ghost Man on Third" and I didn't put #9 on there. I had to take the original #9 and 14 out because the files were locked on iTunes and I didn't notice this until after I made the back cover image.
Enjoy if you decide to download and Happy Halloween! Post your favorite Halloween-themed songs. :)

new albums.
Jun 19 2007, 4h02
New releases this summer:
Straylight Run The Needles The Space
I love the new album. It's so different and experimental compared to the first one, but it's still really good. I think I like it better. It's the type of album that grows on you when you listen to it more, but I like every song sofar. I was looking through the tracks to write down my favorites and I really like every song, but I love "Soon We'll Be Living in the Future", "This is the End", "Buttoned Down", and "First of the Century". The bonus tracks are great (the iTunes version came with a bonus EP with two bonus tracks and acoustic versions and there's two other tracks floating around). I love Michelle's songs too which I tended to skip over on the first album. They've improved/matured their sound. Their first album holds a lot of memories (with the songs) for me so we'll see how this one compares.
The Honorary Title Scream and Light Up The Sky
I heard this album a while ago. It's really good, but I know for a lot of their stuff, it takes me a while to really like their songs. A lot of songs I really liked off their new album, but a lot of songs I need to listen to repeated more to get in to them. As a whole, I really like the album and some songs really stuck out to me. I don't know when they're planning on releasing this and if they're changing any of the songs at all, but I'm excited to see the artwork for this album and for it to be released.
Tegan and Sara The Con
So I finally heard this album and it's amazing. I think it might even be my favorite Tegan and Sara album, but I still have to let it grow on me more. I love every song (right now, esp. "Back In Your Head", "Nineteen", and "The Con") and it's made me realize how much I've loved this band. I like it better than So Jealous by a lot and I think it can be compared to If It Was You (though it's different, I might even say 'The Con' is better...but some of my favorite songs ever are on If It Was You). I love all the songs and I think you should really give this a listen. I'll prob get around to buying it when it actually releases. Oh, and I love that Chris Walla (from Death Cab for Cutie) produced it.
Mae Singularity
Mae's album Signularity sounds like it will be amazing. I've heard
Brink of Disaster on their myspace and I absolutely love it. It's a little darker than their previous stuff, but in a good way and I'm impressed that they are changing a little without losing their original sound. I hope I don't get tired of it. I love the lyrics too..they've seem to improved lyrically on their new songs. I've also kind of heard "Rocket" and "Crazy 8's" which are both amazing... I can't wait to hear the studio version of "Crazy 8's". It reminds me why I fell in love with Mae.. ahhhh. They're doing a lot of stuff on their website like featuring videos to lead up to the new album. It just makes the whole process really exciting and the artwork and videos that come with their music is so nice. Last year around this time, I was really in to Mae, so it's nice that I have a reason to get in to them again.

I guess Adam Lazarra, though he's engaged. :)
53. Favourite movie soundtracks?
Garden State and and the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack got me in to Dashboard Confessional's "Vindicated"
55. Any musician pet hates?
Hmm, I don't know. I don't like when artists steal other lines. I mean, Fall Out Boy kind of does that... but it works for them because it's changed just enough that they're original. But I guess not being original is kind of a turn off.
56. What do your parents listen to?
My mom likes country and I guess whatever's playing on the radio. My dad plays the piano, so he's in to classical stuff.
