join the dots...probably the best compilation...like, ever. in my opinion, of course :P a hefty amount of The Cure's best work resides on JTD.

they do?! well, now i don't feel so embarrassed about our hokey music "scene"...:) and yes, you really should see the history boys (film)! it's really very good. the music choice is fabulous, it's got the smiths (this charming man, obviously) the cure (a forest), and echo and the bunnymen (never stop) among others.

wow. :) well, at least you HAVE a music scene. we have a couple of local high school bands. one is abysmal, they try to combine rage against the machine with guns n' roses with muse. NOT a good result, i tell you! but, the other one is heavily influenced by jimi hendrix and bob marley, which their music is great (they even have a song called "the only one" which came out after The Cure's song, but still made me laugh quite a bit) yeah, at first i didn't really like This Charming much at ALL but then i saw The History Boys and heard that version. I was instantly like, HOLY CRAP. :)

the bands i find 'disagreeable' include queen, duran duran, nine inch nails oh and Ufucking2. apart from that its all good. reminded me i need to get back on errors and pivot!

yes true, we do have a lot of link ups, but at the same time im sure there are more bands we would totally disagree about than bands we do agree on.

paul, i am a little surprised that we have 'very high' music compatability.

yes, you definitely need to check out The Cure In Orange. It is most likely one of the most definitive colleciton live performances they've put out, if not THE most definitive. Magnificent energy, and Tim Pope captures the band's attitude and atmosphere like no other. since the smiths are no longer a living entity, i suppose a cover band so good would be an honor of sorts. i'm far off from anywhere that would have that sort of thing :'( so conisder yourself lucky. have you heard the extended new york version of this charming man? i think that's my favorite version of the song. wow, really? i knew both songs were about a suicide, but i never knew it was the SAME suicide. wow

naive, naw...you just didn't know, is all. :) i buy whatever i can find, really. it's difficult to find ANY good music let alone specific albums where i live. i have to drive, like, 45 miles to the nearest larger city to even begin to look. And now, I've cleaned their stores of all the Cure albums I didn't own, and now they have copies of what I own. Frustrating. But there's always eBay. speaking of, I just got the VHS of The Cure In Orange today! Have you seen it, or do you own it? If not, there are some amazing videos of the songs on YouTube. And I buy them on CD, but I'm considering buying a few on vinyl. Like, my absolute favorites, or even some singles I'm fond of...just for sentimental value. Yeah, Cure albums have lyrics, from about the top and onwards, i think...are The Smiths Indeed good? Well, I'd imagine so if you're making the effort to see them. :) sounds fantastic! and, yes, i think they're related.
