Back to the basics
Abr 13 2006, 3h24
I am listening to Rise Against again. Over and over. They started very well with The Unraveling, continued brilliantly with Revolutions Per Minute and more recently produced another great album: Siren Song of the Counter Culture. All the albums are great. It is both punky, melodic, powerful, catchy and pretty well grown up. I love the singer's voice. One of my favorite song is not on one of these albums though. It is called
Generation Lost and is featured on the Fat Music VI: Uncontrollable Fatulence album.
By the way, it is fun to realize that
Swing Life Away is the most listened-to song on last.fm and it does NOT represent Rise Against at all! -
As I Lay Dying
Mar 31 2006, 19h56
As I Lay Dying is amazing. It is www.pandora.com who got me listening to it on my "metal" radio. I think it derived from my taste for bands like Shadows Fall, In Flames or Soilwork.
The song
Through Struggle is a good example of what you'll get to hear from the band. It has a melodic-ish chorus and a lot of screaming. Double pedaling and powerful riffs. -
New Soul Position
Mar 30 2006, 5h15
I discovered Soul Position through some songs on RJD2's Gettin Jukie Wid It. Their new album Things Go Better With RJ and AL includes a song that I just loved before even hearing the first minute: Keep It Hot For Daddy. I am playing this song in loops now ;D
Enjoy. -
Comeback Kid
Mar 22 2006, 17h02
I finally get to listen to Comeback Kid which my friend Titou referred to me. It is fucking awesome. It makes me think about Sick of It All, Rise Against and, somehow, the voice of Dog Eat Dog's lead singer. Kicks ass! -
