I've more than quadrupled the CPU, RAM, and storage capacity of my desktop by turning some of my superfluous vacation hours into one of these:

I was tempted by a Radeon 5850, but not using the GT220 in this PC would be a waste.

I also bought Street Fighter 4 now that they replaced the announcer. I'll have Cammy bouncing around in no time. ^_^

Speaking of fail, this new machine didn't inform me of at least 12 important updates, while Norton's 60 day demoware got its panties in a bunch over a tracking cookie (no details) that was a "threat" but not really. And i'm not used to this stunted keyboard layout yet.

5.9 Windows performance rating due to 5200 RPM disk, but it does run SF4 well and encodes a CD to Ogg Vorbis in 5 minutes.

Too bad the Aero shadows cause the NVIDIA driver to crash when i resize a window. Windows 7 handles it nicely, though. I should test my RAM.

NVIDIA 181 driver Windows Vista 32-bit issue "GeForce 200 Series • GeForce GTX 280/260: Lord of the Rings Online–there is corruption in the shadow areas. [490186]" could be related. As well as Nvidia Hit With New Class Action Threat Over Windows Vista Glitches. I hope it's not a hardware issue.

Also because it switching audio outputs takes 18 seconds, as opposed to immediately on my 6+ yo PC.

HP doesn't list it anymore, so here are the stats: HP Pavilion p6250nl Desktop PC 300W PSU Intel i5 750 @ 4x 2.67 GHz (95W) 4 GB DDR3 RAM (max. 16) MSI MS-7613 with Intel P55 Express chipset 1 TB SATA 3G (3.0 Gb/sec) SuperMulti SATA DVD Burner with LightScribe Technology GeForce GT220 (1 GB RAM, DVI (single-link or dual-link), HDMI and VGA) Memory card reader 8 channel audio (Where do i put the speakers?) Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n Windows 7, 64 bit. The driver updating is still a manual affair for some reason. DriverAgent is nice to check for updates, but according to user reviews, it's preferable to manually look for the right update as the app is not supported well.
