Not a bad list there. Were this a questionnaire that offered a series of questions with little useful information gathered the end, mine would be full of ticked "Agree/Strongly Agree" boxes. Lot of contemporary albums in there too, and y'know fuck the idea that nothing's happening in music anymore, perhaps not a major cultural revolution but there's as much and more amazing and varied music being created now as ever. As well as the obvious '60s, I've always romanticised the influence of the late 70's to the 80's as a haven for indie or alternative (as the term could be used then before the 90's redefinition) music, it seemed as if it was all kicking off, and punk and new wave changed what pop was and could be, but there's been so much of late, even and especially when bands like Portishead surprise you and release maybe the best album of their career. Take care, chief, feeling the Tom Waits love. x
