There comes a time, when you grow up...

After years of suppressing my love of this genre due to trying to impress some people and getting a boyfriend who listens to an awful lot of it, I have come to realize I will never evade my love of country music. A result of my upbringing with only one radio station and an emotional connection with a few songs, I will always have a place in my ipod for country, albeit only a select playlist. Because while I do love country, I don't particularly love the pop-country of today. My list below reflects that (hopefully):

In no order,
1. Alan Jackson - Drive (For Daddy Gene)
2. Zac Brown Band - Colder Weather
3. Garth Brooks - That Summer
4. Tim McGraw - Please Remember Me
5. Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down
6. Kenny Chesney - I'm Alive Feat. Dave Matthews
7. Reba McEntire - Fancy
8. Reba McEntire - The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia
9. Keith Urban - Only You Can Love Me This Way
10. Gary Allan - Songs About Rain
11. Doc Walker - Rocket Girl
12. Corb Lund - I Wanna Be In the Cavalry (Reprise)
13. Corb Lund - The Truth Comes Out
14. Brooks & Dunn - Indian Summer
15. Brad Paisley - Waitin' on a Woman

That is a pretty good list. I have a similar relationship with country. It was always on at my grandmothers. It wasnt til I was 14 or so that I caved and admitted to liking it. I don't listen to it all that much anymore but when it comes on it brings back memories.
