That whole album (Out Of The Woods) is amazing; highly recommended.

I also love that you love By Piccadilly Station I Sat Down And Wept... not many artists make melancholy sound so delightful.

You speak truth... I love the antique, analogue sound effect at the beginning and the way it bursts open all rainbow-like with the key change at the end. :-)

:-D That line still sends shivers down my spine every time! Why oh why oh why wasn't it a single? Never mind, it's probably better preserved as a semi-secret anyway. How are you at the moment? Looking forward to hearing from you.

... you guessed correctly! I don't love every single song, but when it's good, it's very very good indeed... Looking forward to your message.

I was looking through my shoutbox and you were one of the first people I met on here back in '06! Your taste is still pretty awesome.

Hey, it has been a while! Things are pretty great: I've moved out of home and gotten engaged, I'm halfway through my Nursing degree, and busy planning the future. Ludicrously happy about that. The flipside of that is that I'm working my arse off and rarely seem to get anywhere, and I'm constantly broke as fuck. I haven't been on last.fm much, mainly because I haven't had the time to dedicate to really absorbing new music; I follow about three or four artists intently (Pumpkins are still one! Sydney show last year ruled) because it takes me months to really get attached to a record. Otherwise I just ignore it or say "that was good!" and then ignore it. And I barely ever go to gigs. Too expensive. I tend to listen to the same stuff over and over, but I'm branching out just a little, particularly when it comes to early death metal stuff and hip-hop. Aussie hip-hop seems to be in the middle of a bit of a renaissance, there's some awesome stuff coming out right now.

I just listened to Autolux. The first song I listened to was Supertoys [Aka let it be broken) which I really liked. After that, I listened to Turnstile Blue and the drums were a little too loud for my taste, not because I dislike vocal drumming because I don't. I just felt it was too strong to match the singer's voice. Regardless of this fact it was a good tune. The last song I listened to was Here comes Everybody which was my least favorite... something about it didn't automatically grown on me like the others, but still quite good for a modern band. So yeah. That's my verdict on them. :-)

Sobre mim

I love it all, from A-Z...

This is what I listen to mostly...

The Smashing Pumpkins
....'nuff said...

The Classic Shit: Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Velvet Undergound...

The Good Shit: Radiohead, Muse

The Post-Rock / Ambient Shit : Explosions In The Sky, Sigur Ros, This Will Destroy You

Progressive Rock: Tool, A Perfect Circle, dredg, King Crimson, Oceansize

Electronica: Sneaker Pimps, Massive Attack, Portishead, Morcheeba, Cibo Matto, Tricky, Lamb, Boards of Canada, Air...

Alternative: Bush, Nirvana, Hole, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Jane's Addiction, Stone Temple Pilots, Pixies...

Indie: The Flaming Lips, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Silversun Pickups, Lodger, The Shins, Interpol (though most of these are borderline other stuff)...

Shoegaze / Dream Pop / Related Areas: My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, Asobi Seksu, Galaxie 500, Mazzy Star, The Sundays, The Radio Dept., Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions

And yea, I have my guilty pleasures too, just go scouring the bottom of my overall list :)

I've kinda learned to not be so critical of people's music taste; it's a taste, it's what appeals to them, you can't convince someone who loves Chocolate that Vanilla is better, it's just what they like, no matter how you break it down. Now don't get me wrong, I'm always up for a good, well-mannered discussion about music, but I don't like spammers and people who seem incapable of seeing both sides.
