Greetings,if the mechanism I spoke about was to be embraced, there is a high probability a quantified correlation could be established. This will reinforce the view, many of today's artist pursue their endeavors with a clinical monetary vision. The intrinsic qualities, such as;creative enlightenment, self satisfaction,.the love of effort etc.are genuinely absent.I am of the opinion , to excel in whatever endeavor, one has to to enjoy the journey and believe me a sense of humor truly helps. Many of today's artist view the objective only in dollars and the love and enjoyment of effort is just not there.Presley,Ross,Gaye, Dion etc all seem to have a strong sense of laughter.Take care

Hi - The ratios that correlate input, output, efficiency and value to demonstrate a more appreciative quantum of music evolved in the 60's and 70's.To establish this:A subjective pool of inputs to music needs to be established - For example, the love of music, musical talent, creative vision, etc. Whatever the matrix embraced, the inputs of music must be quantified.Additionally,a subjective pool to monitor musical output has to be determined. Such as; vocal strength, lyrical depth ,integration of components etc,the matrix embraced must establish a quantitative unit. The efficiency variable could monitor; Hits,Platinum records etc..The ratios could observe the decades of music. In a very practical sense, imagine the 60's With the likes of Hendrix. Presley,Beatles ,Stones Joplin with today's numbers,Its a proposed mechanism to assist in rationalizing the reasons for the level of music in today's scenario. You did not mention which musician has the humor that appeals to you? Take care

The points you made were interesting and valid.Just maybe, the core issues may have to include the evolution of societal and economic dynamics'.The relationship between input, output, efficiency and value has to be explored. In the 50's,60's the ratios among these variables facilitated a greater probability of excellence, innovation and productivity. However, from the early 90's these relationships were skewed to the extent output was symbolic to materialism. This point transcends human endeavor during the different decades.A bit much on possible theoretical thought,I am interested in getting your view as to which artist you are aware of - had a strong sense of humor?Take care

The response was well articulated. What are the mechanisms that are in place to ensure these skills are sustained.Any thoughts?Take care

Thank you for your opinions :) Yes I think it may be different in the UK, BUT only slightly. I don't advocate a band making music that others want to hear rather than making music the band wants to play. When bands/ do that it seems like they are treating music as just another job. However, I don't think something is bad because it is "Mainstream". If lots of people want to hear a band/artists music and what you got to say then it is fine, if that music is what the band/artist wants to make. :) It does not make them less credible for doing so in my opinion. Would you agree with that?

"Every band goes through a natural evolution (as well as a "forced" one due to what get's played on the radio/tv), but I enjoy Keane's new album just as much as I liked the old ones." - What makes you think that radio and tv have a "forced" evolution on a band? Do you think it is possible that a band can be free from this forced influence?
