• Hot tracks, even hotter basement

Fri 19 Mar – Garuda presents The Gareth Emery Podcast 100 Party

Gareth played a blinder as usual, although not quite up to his usual triple A standard. Jerome Isma-Ae's mizing was technically very good but the middle part of his set could have used some slightly more melodic track selection for my taste - a little bit techy in places but it's all a matter of taste. Menno De Jong started with promise but...

The Sankeys management of the night was awful though. The basement was RIDICULOUSLY hot, and to make matters worse there was a huge queue for the outside terrace area which wasn't even that crowded once you finally managed to get there. To add insult to injury I was herded back inside within a few minutes because I wasn't smoking. Somewhat discriminatory against non-smokers. What a complete joke. Would have liked to stay for more of Menno De Jong's set but we had to leave to avoid death by hyperthermia.
