i can listen to almost anything except:
REGGAE (yuk..)
contemporary rn'b (people, you don't know what's the ethymology of the fucking term!), contemporary soul*
smooth jazz/elevator music (sweet shit)
post-rock, so-called indie-rock (get a bass guitar, cheap drums, weak falsetto vocals, fuck up the mix, so that the record's quality is similar to death magnetic or worse, and you have a highly rated 'alternative' album)
icelandic music. jeez. it all sounds the same (look up), but as long as artists' names are weird and it's icelanding people jerk off to that stuff. i just don't get it.

*exception for Joss Stone's "soul sessions", but this one is clearly an oldschool thing.
as for so-called mallcore shit i listen to:
yeah, i really like trivium. i know they ripped off some riffs - who didn't nowadays. i don't really see the difference in pureness between hc screams and classic growl, but maybe that's why i like them. instead i see a band that maybe lacks trvvness, but has some genuine energy.
linkin park - i just like hybrid theory, i consider the debut fresh and fierce, but let's all forget everything after it.
korn - yeah, it's fun. i don't care if it's metal or not, they have some good stuff. and 'untouchables' is really a good album, way better as a whole than rest of them.
system of a down - face it, self-titled was other than everything else. they had an idea, which was diluted on toxicity (but still there were some nice tracks, above all the title track) and you could still see some of it on steal this album compilation, but for God's sake let's don't even look at mesmerise and later shit...
