I had no idea that Carpathian were on that tour too..damn. Good move on the Beecher gig too, i wish I could just do that, but Beecher are a Manchester band anyway so thats just lucky :P I agree with you on Sonisphere looking the better festival at the moment, i'll just wait and see what Download decide to throw up later on, no doubt it'll be in the vein of Madina Lake and Papa Roach but time will tell. And with Thrice, all i can say is listen to anything and everything, particularly Vheissu.. The Alchemy Index is great too and as you mentioned, Beggars, as "All the world is Mad" is on that album. Just get it all listened to. You will not regret it.

I haven't got THAT many lined up aside from Devin and the Periphery tour, thats not to say there aint any id like to go to. Defeater at Leeds would be cool, but I depend on my mate to drive there and back and he doesn't listen to em so i can't force that one on him haha. There's also Beecher at Manchester id like to go to, but i dunno if thatl happen either butttt thats what happens when ya live in the north east, no one bothers to acknowledge its existence, so ya forced to trek. Think i'm going to either Sonisphere or Download this year too, just waiting for some hopeful tour announcements such as a Thrice tour, fingers crossed. And if you dont listen to Thrice, then listen to Thrice :D

I would recommend Ocean Machine: Biomech. It's got one of the worst front covers ever, but its his first album haha, It's probably my favourite album. "Accelerated Evolution" is probably my second favourite, followed by "Terria" which is a bit more proggy, and if you haven't listened to "Ziltoid the Omniscient" then do it haha, I'd highly recommend it if not just for its concept. Not to say the other albums are bad, but they are the ones I enjoy the most :)

I did the sunday in leeds this year, and on the lockup I really enjoyed, you had against me, alkaline trio, sick of it all, crazy arm hatebreed etc. and on the other day other bands such as trash talk and paint it black, so it would have been worth goin. The main stage on the sunday was cool to,. got to see billy talent NOFX so all was cool. taht hell fire fest defo appeals to me, any ideas if its happening this year>? and when a line up is announced?

i've had to write another comment, occupied all the characters.....That aside I'll be doing leeds this year, last years lock up was rediculously good. Plus Interpol should be playing the main stage, one of my all time favourite bands! plus all my friends go there too.

I know what u mean with adverts, Its a good shout, if ads are more frequent during peak times. I've found there is always and advert if your switching artist. lets say your on the switch over from one artists album to another artist. I presuming "spotify" know that your aware your coming to the end of listening and you've selected another album, therfore this may be a significant absorbing period for the listener to take note of any advertisements. anyway that ceremony track was very good, love the percussion and bass. Will give that album a run through. I've nothing written in stone just yet, downloads announcements thus far are really bad and do nouthing for me. atm sonisphere having slipknot is a big draw, but i'm not a massive slipknot fan. The battle is won or lost with the strength of the other bands on throughout the day and before the headliners themselves.

I bloody love spotify! I'm on an account where I was invited to join for free. I don't have time limits or anything like that, just adverts...which I used to tbh, because it exposes me to bands I probably wouldn't have had access to otherwise. The selection is awesome! I tried getting hold of the latest Polar Bear Clubs album bout year ago couldn't find it anywhere!, low and behold spotify came into its own by having it! after that moment i've never looked back! Its a good answer to stop illegal downloading imo. The premium account defo would have its benefits, just i'd get a day pass and see if the benefits are worth the dosh. I've added you on this spotify dashboard thingy now, so ur name is on my right hand panel, as a tester i'll pop a random track inur inbox for example fall out boy lol. This year is defo gonna be a great year for Hardcore, u going any festivals sonisphere/download?

Re: Devil sold his soul, I loved their first album, but not really given their latest a proper go! I also herd on the metal hammer podcast ther other day lead singer cannot sing live. I've never seen them live so i can't say, but his vocals on CD are really abrasive, so it wouldn't suprise me. Don't get me started on Gallows lol There a band I probably should have respect for but I think they've become people entry route into hardcore/metal. I'm probably being douché but I know someone who thinks there" fuckin cool" becasue they listen to them....and I just "eye roll" in disgust :P. I'm sure there's a few images of that gig knocking about on flickr, I'll have a look later. anyhow i've looked into how to do this spotify, and if you click this link http://open.spotify.com/user/paulclarke235/playlist/67LrcUU0vtgbck7rsexTht Then onces you've clicked it, it'll lauch spotify, you should see a yellow promt where it says "add paul" click that. Hope it works!

I've not seen BWP thus far, but from what your saying they must be good live! the ghostfest line up seemd pretty good, who else did you manage to see, seeing Throats now they've split would have been cool. anyways re dillinger I'd say I was a fan, seeing them at club academy in october (which you probably went to ;)) was pretty mind blowing! I've never wanted to hear silence so badly! It was good and everything but man my ears were well and truly pounded at that gig! perhaps the loudest/noisest gig i've ever been,, utter chaos! P.S. I see your on spotify so any ideas how I can link you to my spotify profile?

busy line up, your telling me! it was like this at the end of october through november. Everyone starts touring when your skint...;) anyhow Im just going rot in hell, just for BWP I agree their new album is mint! The darkest hour gig should be a good night! I like a few bands on the bill, but mainly going for purified in blood! That Your demise gig is gonna be good, some decent bands supporting! I've never been to that music venue though, that almost plays a bigger part as the bands themselves imo on how good the gig is! P.S. your display picture...you a massive Dillinger fan?

I'm raping your shoutbox but, Manchester is probably the best choice you can make for University i'd say. Bands never miss out Manchester haha and it's a good city, so win/win

Hahaha, yeah BTBAM are great live, even if you dont like their music, their performance's are sooo good, so you can just embrace the greatness, the same can be said for DEP too. Trash Talk supported Cancer Bats on their tour. I dunno if they've been or it the'yre yet to come to Newcastle, cos I know they had a gig here. I was gonna go to it but too many gigs happened recently in the months of October/November I've just had to prioritize. I know Converge played at Manchester recently too. It's pretty annoying, but with my mate having a car now we can travel to Leeds pretty easily and have done a few times recently, as even Leeds get more gigs than Newcastle....ANNOYINGLY. Gallows had a gig with Dead Swans at Leeds earlier this week I think, that was another potential gig I didn't end up going to that I would of liked to get to, Hexes were on that bill too, and I see that they are on the Trash Talk show you're going to too, they're pretty good.

Ahh haha, I found the fact his lips were just protruding through the tights to be funny as hell like. Was that the Between the Buried and Me tour then at Sheffield in 08? Cos I saw em in 08 at Newcastle and loved that gig as I love BTBAM, it was the perfect show. I see you've got a few nice looking gigs lined up, Trash Talk, Dead Swans, nice one :) Thats the good thing with living in Manchester, you get so many more gigs than Newcastle.
