Apparently TV On The Radio have only cancelled like 5 dates or something so we should be okay for both I reckon, will definitely be weird though. That's awesome that you have a radio show! Whichever friend recommended those books has great taste, I read 'The Doors Of Perception' last week weirdly enough and it is brilliant. And 'Fear And Loathing' is such a classic, Hunter S is/was a hero. I've just started 'Norwegian Wood' as well, I love Murakami but for some reason took ages to get around to that one. And 'Venus In Furs', when I say I enjoyed it I mean as a piece of literature and not as a sex aid. Haha. So strange you've been to Farnborough! I always think of it as a total nothing town. I just say 'outside London' cos there's nothing around here for people to know usually, ha. I'm just doing a distance learning degree through the Open University, cos I was rubbish when I was at proper uni and I want to get a job and move to London. Good luck with the essay! Speak soon xx

Hey, yeah it makes a change to read an interesting one once in a while! Thanks, though compared to most people who also do 'Seen Live' lists on here mine is pretty pathetic... even more pathetic considering the fact I'm an aspiring music journalist, which I hope answers the interview question! I was meant to see and review The Naked And Famous after I interviewed them but their male singer was such a dick about the the whole thing I opted not to go to the gig haha. Ellie Goulding and Stornoway were really friendly though. Looking to get interview with Ladytron and The Cribs in the near future too which should be cool. Yeah I live in Southampton and thankfully it's got quite a good music scene, and Bournemouth, Portsmouth and even London aren't too far away so gigs are pretty accessible. Pretty cool about the Joiners, may even see you there in the near future (debating whether to go to the Miles Kane show...). And kudos on spotting the Toro reference, love that line so much :) xx

Ha ah yeah I'm so so hyped for DFA1979, I couldn't believe it when I got tickets. Played nothing but them for about a week. And yeah I completely know what you mean about meaning people and them being horrible, I think I've only experienced that, ha. What was Patrick Wolf like? That is amazing. I massively love TV On The Radio - I seriously only found them because I liked their name in a record shop when I was like 15 or something, haha, but I'm so glad I did. Jealous you're going to Wireless! But I'm going to Glastonbury so I'll see them too. Are you going to any other festivals? I'm literally 2 miles from Aldershot if that, ha, in Farnborough? Don't know if you know it. It's rubbish. Haha. Where are you studying law? I'm starting an English Lit degree in October, after hating doing Journalism for a couple of years. What sort of stuff do you write? xx

Haha thanks, you too! Amazing that your top played is Patrick Wolf, I have embarrassed myself at way too many of his shows (by crying in front of strangers, haha). I went to uni in Bournemouth for a bit, and I live in Hampshire so loads of my friends are down in Southampton. I haven't been to many gigs there, think the last was the Buzzcocks in like, 2009 or something, haha. I live a bit closer to London so I mostly go there. Thanks for getting in touch! x

Sobre mim

I'm Amy.

A bit of a lost and confused oddball by my own admission, but also a Biomedical Scientist/medical malpractise Lawyer in the making surprisingly enough too.
Don't for one minute think that this means that I am "logical" or "sensible" or "organised" or any of the preconceived ideas that you may have relating to this statement in the slightest...

I'm one of those people who is "always everywhere" apparently, or so I'm told.
It is fair to say that music plays a rather large part in my life and that I can be found at an obscene number of gigs...usually at least 3 a week. Occasionally more than two a night. And usually with Pie in toe ;P

I wish that I had a time machine so that I could travel back and see The Clash and T. Rex and The Beatles.
But I don't see that happening...for the time being at least ;)

I am pretty open minded when it comes to music...
I don't like to be thought of as (in the words of one of my best friends) a "generic indie" lover. Not to say that this genre doesn't make up quite a large percentage of the music that I listen too, as my most played lists show. But I am just as much at home listening to The Libertines or At The Drive-In...Thomas Tantrum or Rolo Tomassi...Arctic Monkeys or The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster.
And even Dizzee Rascal too...
No prizes for guessing my favourite musician though...

I always seem to have loads of weird and wonderfull plans that everybody else says are crazy, but that I always believe in wholeheartedly when I make them.
I'm the sort of person however, that might just about pull them off.
If not, you can't ever say that I didn't try...
I know for a fact that before long I will surprise everybody anyway.
Especially those that always made me feel that they didn't think I was good enough.

"Not like most girls" is another phrase that I have heard used to describe myself on numerous occasions...

Perhaps this is partly due to the fact that virtually all waking hours that I consider socially acceptable occur after dark...?
Or the fact that I spend an inappropriate/bordering on just plain abnormal amount of time naked...?
And that I have a great love for a certain green hallucinagenic form of alcohol...?
Who knows?
Its just as well really as I have a deep rooted fear of everything which is "average" and "middle of the road".
As my favourite book says, the best things in life are "for madmen only".

I am a little bit of an exhibitionist...
Hence why I pour my heart out to mostly perfect strangers on the internet such as I am doing now...
I refuse to be ignored. Whatever I have to do :S

I'm slightly on the loud side.
In addition, I'm rather skilled in the art of conversation (apparently I talk too much), and am fairly fluent in small talk, however what I enjoy most is happily joining in and grinning along only to drop in something philsophical and thought provoking when its least expected. I like the look on peoples faces, and I like to see who will actually answer...
I also wonder if I'm the only person who lays awake until the early hours of the morning with all these strange thoughts going round in their head...

I have quite a way with words, and am constantly writing.
Tragically my singing voice isn't one of my greatest assets, so I'm going to learn the Violin or the saxaphone in order to give myself some form of creative outlet.
I might be shit. But I'm determined to keep on going until I'm not.

All of this said however, there are still times when there might be so much that I want to say to somebody, but I find that the words have suddenly dried up and I couldn't say anything, no matter how much I may want to.
Thats just the way, isn't it?

It makes me smug knowing that I can understand some of my favourite song lyrics on a much deeper level than the majority of people. The way that only experience can teach you rather being "well educated".

I live for adventures. Thankfully even the most mundane of things in my life seem to turn into something worth relaying as an extravagent literary escapade. I like to think that one day, I'll be like the real life Carrie Bradshaw. Or as Lucie says, "Belle De Jour...minus the Prostitution".

I present on two radio shows- "Where is my Mind??" Every Wednesday at 10pm and a breakfast show "Pure Morning" at 8am every Saturday. If you would like to hear my voice, and request some sexy music please go to or listen on 1287am :)

Please talk to me :)
I'm quite nice really.
And I will no doubt return the favour with some massive non-sensical rambling or other! ;)

And feel free to locate me on Myspace/Facebook also if you so wish.

I also now have one of these things, as all the rest of the world now seem too. Even if I do think its a bit shit really.
