Coheed and Cambria, Oceansize @ Arena, Vienna (08/04/14)
hello again,
as announced I return yet with another bootleg. I already mentioned in my previous post that the quality might not be the best but enough to remember a great show, especially if you know the catchy tunes of Coheed and Cambria by heart :)
I still didn't figure out the right volume settings, but I'm getting close. This time there is a lot more audience noise aka singing, but it doesn't really get in the way of listening to the concert from my point of view. By the way, the crowd was a bit lame at times, but all in all I liked the energy of this evening.
I was quite satisfied with the setlist due to the balanced choice of songs (five from the latest record, three from the revious one, three from IKSSE:3, three from TSSTB and one cover), although, as dhudinger pointed out, they could have easily played some songs like Three Evils, Neverender or The Crowing instead of The Final Cut :P And maybe a couple of acoustic songs (God Send Conspirator or The Light and The Glass, p.e.), too.
Nonetheless it was a powerful show and a good concert indeed. Claudio even managed to smile a little this time! The length of the gig was fine as well, even without The Final Cut :)
Some people pointed out bad acoustics, but to me it sounded alright, to be honest. I could clearly hear every instrument and the volume and tone was the way I like it (some of the recent shows at the Arena were really quiet in my opinion).
Some more things about the bootleg: I didn't cut every single part of the show when a song was finished (except for the encore break) since there wasn't much going on inbetween (e.g. talking) so I thought I'll just keep the flow - except for the Evil Medley (gapless play is recommended). The Final Cut isn't edited either, I wanted to include every parts in one track, I hope that's ok.
I intended to release the bootleg of Oceansize as well (because they own!) but unfortunately I fucked up the recording - sorry.
So, enjoy! And please leave some feedback at my journal/profile. I plan on recording more shows if I know people want it.
