What makes a musician genious? Complexity of his/her songs? Loads of songs? None of this!
Trying to use new things , the things u have never seen before in that style maybe creating that style.And sometimes taking risks but at the end being succesfull! Those are the meanings of musical genious for me.
When we add the talent coming from the birth to those we have the great musician.I was talking about Trent Reznor.
Tons of songs , none of them are similar , none of them is simple , none of them means nothing , but unreachable , extraordinary and have souls.
Yes he was very lucky he can use all the technology
but other artists have the same opportunity.But no ,none of them are even close to NIN songs.Besides we can think on Pretty hate machine.So less instrument,so many diffrent , original songs.
So yes Trent is a genious , even better than Mozart (Sorry i accept that Mozart is a genious too but...)
Pretty Hate Machine : I was not old enough to catch up the PHM but like all other fans i finally manage to listen it in the past.It was like the signal of a great musician is coming , it was obvious.He even dont have the technology yet!!!!
Downward Sprial : OMG i really cant describe the Album with one word.Maybe with several words. :D What a deep soul , what a genious.Like songs are coming from another dimension and Trent has them only :D One of the Best album.
THE FRAGILE : With one word Unreachable.Even by Trent's himself.Powerfull.Some techniques , some great musical genious u have never seen before.Sometimes going very hard deep complex, sometimes it makes us feel the same feeling only using a simple melody.It was the Trent's maximum capacity.There wont be any album like it in this world.I am very sure in this thought.
With Teeth : Ok we all know that Trent was having some problems in his life.The mistake was he reflected those problems with an album.Still great songs worth listening.
Year Zero :First i was very afraid cuz we all thought that after WT ,Trent lost his genious.Maybe he used his all on Fragile.But not Year is 2007 , and something must be done diffrent fitting the world's latest situation.When i listen YZ it reminds me the global warming , possible World War , post nuclear time, even things we cant manage to understand in the close future.So in my opinion Trent did the thing he must do !!!
Thats why Trent is a genious, he always was always will be !!!
