Not only him, but Chagall, Nabokov, Gogol, Tchaikovsky ^^ Prokofiev also, if I am not mistaken. xD What about San Francisco ? It looks marvellous ... better than LA ... better LA is where the stars are, so it depend !! ^^ Congratulations !!! What level is your Russian at now ? Mi mozhem po Ruski tozhe pisat' ... ya tol'ko ne ymeyu tsrilikoi pisat na moe' klavioture. Of course ! It is very interesting ... linguists ... help in such areas, you would not know ... probably a linguist who came up with 'La vache qui rit' ^^ All based on sounds and word patterns ... Ha, yes !! He works quickly, no ? xD We will be like Sartre ... although he was a high school teacher ... but all the same !! ^^ We shall overcome !

You are correct. How interesting -- I never thought about it that way. We get told when we are about twelve, 'this is important for the Bac, this is for the Bac', that is true ... Ah, yes, of course. ^^ We have the term here as well ... Anglo-Saxon. Iceland would be glorious ^^ Russia, too ... Petersburg or Moscow !! I know Japan is very popular, and obviously the US ^^ It would be interesting, to go to Texas !^^ Or DC; I adore it. Or NYC ... or LA ... you have probably been there, of course ... but Seattle as well xD I've taken an interest for quite some time, since perhaps the previous year. My friend ... we made a pact together ... to study for our Ph.D in linguistics ... and then we will be professors ... his idea ... that is why I laughed when I read your biography on here ... it reminded me of our 'plan' ^^ I see his work on you is done xD

Sobre mim

Welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, well. To what do I owe the extreme pleasure of this surprising visit?

My name is Jake, and I'm an unpatriotic Canadian. Not to say that I'm ungrateful for the excellent living conditions and whatnot, but the lack of culture and identity is rather depressing. My main passion is music, even though, regrettably, I am incapable of playing any instruments (I'd like to learn drums and piano someday). Explosions in the Sky, Iron Maiden, Frédéric Chopin, Pearl Jam, and The Beatles are my favorite artists of all-time. As one can facilely observe in my charts, my taste is incessantly evolving. I used to be a listener of exclusively metal, but I suppose I've simply grown past that. Now I'm an ardent advocate of post-rock, which I believe is my musical niche. However, my library ranges from classical to hip-hop: Beethoven to Big L. So please don't judge my taste strictly by my charts; some artists I've abandoned, some I've just checked out, and some went unscrobbled. I'll listen to anything except country, so recommendations are always welcome.

I am interested in a multitude of other subjects. A notable one being philosophy. I'm somewhat of a pseudo-intellectual, being aligned with existentialism and libertarianism. I read Nietzsche, whom I emulate, Sartre, Kant, Kierkegaard, Spinoza, Schopenhauer, Marx, and Russell, among others. I also love literature, mostly Russian. I have an insatiable fascination with Dostoevsky, and read Tolstoy, Gogol, Pushkin, Turgenev, Dante, Cervantes, Voltaire, Kafka, Orwell, Goethe and many others as well. Despite my monolingual status, I very much enjoy languages. I'm studying German, and hope to pursue Russian in the future. I'm a wannabe-film buff, some of my favorites being A Clockwork Orange, Life is Beautiful, and Silence of the Lambs. I worship Stanley Kubrick and Kevin Spacey. Other interests of mine include travel, nature, history, anthropology, and religious studies. I aspire to attend university, study abroad in Europe, and become a professor of linguistics.
