Buzzcocks in Belgrade, Serbia (Videos inside)

Well, the Buzzcocks put on a great show here in Belgrade last saturday (June 3rd). I really enjoyed it. It's always good to be able to see some of those legends (no matter when!). Yes, the guys look old now, but the one-hour performance was really tight and full of energy. I guess not every teenager could keep up with them. :) The club was packed with more than 1000 fans. The band kicked off the set with Flat-pack philosophy (title track from the newest album) and continued with Wish I never loved you, Sell you everything, Reconciliation, I don't exist, Soul survivor and Big Brother wheel. A good selection of new songs (especially Reconciliation!), but for me, All set from 1996 remains the best release since reunion (1989-on). Anyway, it was a good warm-up for the classics that followed soon after: I don't mind, Harmony in my head, Ficiton romance, Why can't I touch it?, Autonomy, Get on our own, What do I get?, Love you more, Fast cars and as the last song Ever fallen in love? Then short break before the encore and 6 more hits (now with the bass player Tony Barber wearing FC Red Star Belgrade jersey, hehe): Sick city sometimes, Noise annoys, Breakdown, Promises, Orgasm addict and Boredom. All in all, pretty good set list. I'm only sorry they didn't play anything from the early 80s singles (like Why she's a girl from the chainstore or Airwaves dream) and I expected at least What am I supposed to do from the fore mentioned All set. Pete Shelley did his vocal duties very good and Steve Diggle was really fun to watch. He was the main entertainer on stage. :) Also, I have to say, the new drummer Danny Farrant was amazing. He really nailed it (as Joe Strummer famously said, "A rock band is only as good as its drummer."). For the end, 4 decent quality videos from the show. Enjoy!
