    Haujobb
    EBM, Industrial, Electronic

Haujobb (not to be confused with the demogroup of the same name) formed as a trio in 1993 in Germany, with B. Junemann being the third member to the current duo of Dejan and Daniel. Their first release was on cassette only, the now hopelessly out of print Drift Wheeler. This embryonic issue brought them to the attention of Off Beat records, who released their first CD, Homes and Gardens, later that same year. Haujobb’s first German tour occurred in 1994, along with the American release of Homes and Gardens and their first single, Eye Over You. They often use samples from the ALIEN Movie series.

    The Chemical Brothers
    Electronic, Techno, Trip-Hop

The Chemical Brothers are a British electronic music duo comprising Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, who met at the University of Manchester. Initially they called themselves “The Dust Brothers.” They changed their name in 1995 given the preexisting American duo “The Dust Brothers,” their burgeoning popularity and the threat of legal action from the originals. Thus, their first CD as The Chemical Brothers is titled Exit Planet Dust.

    Arovane
    Ambient, Idm, Electronic

Berlin’s Uwe Zahn released his first tracks as the Arovane EP on the Din label, which also released the first of German dub minimalist Stefan Betke’s work as Pole. Stylistically, Arovane’s work hearkens back to the insular melodic electro of early Autechre, combining interesting, highly syncopated machine box rhythms with warm, delicate synth textures that evoke a gauzy, somewhat nostalgic mood contrasted by the sharpness of the rhythms.
