I'm sorry, I wasn't clear I meant that the vocalist from The Walkmen is reminiscent of the Dylan. Doomstar! sounds nothing like Dylan. They sound like The Walkmen mixed w/ a little Broken Social Scene, w/ more interesting drums & cooler vocal patterns. I've seen The Decemberists, though I did my best to ignore them. My ears don't seem to want to give them a chance. I don't think I've heard one song all the way through, except @ that festival, but I was listening, I was just trying to get as close to the stage as possible before The Flaming Lips were up. You can check out Doomstar! on MySpace. I'm trying to get permission to post some free downloads on my blog.

Things are okay. I've finished my writing project--essentially--so it's back to blogging, finally. Flame and Citron looks quite captivating. I've put it in my Netflix queue. I can't say I've gotten into anything new. I've been listening to more Dylan than ever though. Also last night I listened to a lot of Cat Power covers, I guess I'm feeling kinda bluesy. Which is not good cos I'm supposed to write up a band called Doomstar! next which is far from blues…though the vocalist is occasionally slightly reminicent of The Walkmen whose vocals are reminiscent of Dylan--yeah, but they sound nothing like Dylan. *smiles* Sorry about that. I saw Coppola's The Conversation last week, that was good.

I saw a few highlights of that fight-- it was quite surreal if not downright disturbin! Like watchin a baby , but fully grown, fighting a grown - up! Lol Did you ever try the Flamin Groovies bearing in mind your penchant for Garage rock? Or try the Saints -- Australia's greatest band and cultural icons after the sacred Rolf Harris and Peter Carey!
