Most of Billy Burnette's best work in my opinion is only available on vinyl as most of his albums haven't had a CD release. Of the albums that are on CD, I would say his two best are Coming Home and his duet CD with Bekka Bramlett, Bekka & Billy. Really though, I don't think you can go wrong with any of his albums. I'm a big fan though, so I am biased.

My dad's a Pinto Bennett fan - Pinto sang his song "Idaho Cowboy" at my grandad's funeral. Grandad was a sheriff in southern Idaho, and my dad's side of the family seems to know Pinto well and he even has performed at a little festival we have at our family ranch in S. Idaho. So yeah! I know it's not like what my charts say I listen to, but I still really enjoy some of his stuff.

Hey thanks, buddy! Tom T. and Jones: the best songwriter and the best singer. Your list looks a little deeper than mine, so I just might have to check out your radio. Take care!

Sobre mim

'Somewhere between forty and fallin' apart,
I've got a bad back and a bum knee, and
a teenagers heart.....'

I love Real music - I can't stand soulless music. Most Pop music I dislike. I like songs with great lyrics - but good instrumentation is important.

My favourite Genres are - Country, Americana, No depression, Red Dirt music, however you want to describe it. Plus a helping of British/Irish Rock and Folk. I also like some Rock Music and Soul Music.

I also like Latin Music - although most of it is new too me. I like the Music of Mexico, Central America and South America. Its a huge genre and one its going to take me a long time to figure out!!

Milestone Tracks -

5,000 - Gene Watson - Farewell Party [2008/12/09]

10,000 - Gary Stewart - Single Again [2009/05/06]

15,000 - Brent Mitchell – December, Texas [2009/06/30]

20,000 - Amber Digby – Three Years [2009/09/19]

30,000 - Mel Street - Body Man [2009/10/09]

40,000 - Bobby Bare - Me And Jimmie Rogers [2010/02/05]

50,000 - Tom T Hall - Last Hard Town [2010/04/18]

60,000 - Tom Russell - Tonight We Ride [2010/10/30]

70,000 - George Jones - Open Pit Mine [2011/01/29]

80,000 - Waylon Jennings - I Do Believe [2011/12/18]

I will add my favorite Tracks for each 10,000 Tracks I listen to.

** As I am trying to tidy up my Last.fm song list, I am removing items I have listened to and re-tagging them, so that different versions of the same song do not all appear together, this is particularly annoying with Live recordings.
So my totals have taken a hit for about 3,000 plays.

This year 2011, I lost so many tracks from March to November I had very little luck sync-ing my iphone, result not many scrobbles for 2011. I usually listen to about 60 tracks a day minimum. However in November I discovered a great little package I cannot recommend enough - CLOUDSCROBBLE - ITS GREAT! No more ass-ing around trying to figure out why itunes will not sync with last.fm.

Some big changes happened on Last.fm that changed my listening. When I first joined there were more labels available so everything I listened to was in the Last.fm library but due to some labels withdrawing I have moved over to listening to my own CDs. Also I finally succumbed to technology and got myself a MP3 player. So things should reflect my real taste more.

I grew up listening to the Radio and my favourite DJ's were -

[1] Wally Whyton - Radio 2 Country Time
[2] Andy Kershaw
[3] John Paul Jones
[4] John Peel
[5] Charlie Gillett

I wish I had kept more recordings of the Wally Whyton show that ran on Radio 2 on Thursdays - it was my education in country music - along with the wonderful UK magazine - Country Music People.
