That's my chart for this year so far(uncomplete). Before you start telling me what you think(if you want), I wanna add some things:
You won't see Mddl Fngz, Curren$y or UGK cause I don't listen to southern rap even tho I have tried. They might be quality like last year's A.B.N. album which was great but I didn't listen to it more than once.DJ Quik & Kurupt is another missing thing because of the same reason. No P.O.S. too, cause I'm definitely not a fan of anything out of Rhymesayers, otherwise I'm pretty sure that it's top quality when every Rhymesayers fan likes it so much. =) To explain that better cause some guys seem not to understand it, I just don't say that they suck cause I don't understand and don't feel their music, I don't like them and that's not my type of Hip Hop.That's a reason for not listening to them, not a reason for saying that they suck. And then you won't see Kid Cudi cause I feel like fuck him and fuck his baby mother too.*You won't see Q-Tip cause his new-old album is not a rap album. Eligh & Jo Wilkinson - On Sacred Ground was an interesting one, nice for listening good mix of Hip Hop and folk/soul music but again, it's not in the list cause I can hardly call it a pure rap album.
I won’t say complete opinion about the year as a whole before it ends up, but til now it’s the year of the hugest disappointments. To start with B-Real, this solo album I’m waiting for since 2005. Bullshit. Shyheim, one of my favorite Wu family members, came three times dope, one good, and now what? Dissing Wu and Raekwon and coming with may be the shittiest album I’ve ever heard(really).Nine – I really don’t want to talk about it. Sadat X solo stuff is getting worse and worse every year. CunninLynguists and La Coka Nostra were disappointing as hell too.
And the worst of it all – The Take Over and Blackout 2.No words about them. Meth have never sounded worse, really. And the production on The Take Over, wtf!?
Anyway, so far it’s nice to see that some mc’s still got it, and some new school acts are getting better(Tanya Morgan, DJ Mitsu, I think Torae is growing too even tho he just doesn’t pass good with the Marco Polo beats).
Well?
