  • Will Smith

    Mai 3 2010, 12h19

    Will Smith is a great rapper. And just because he doesn't curse and has R&B-influences in his songs does not mean he's pop instead of hiphop! He's been around for decades, I think he's been recording for over 25 years, can you say that about your favorite rapper? Has your favorite rapper sold what Will Smith has sold? Is your favorite rapper also a great actor/comedian? Does your favorite rapper have a good marriage and does he take care of his three kids? I could go on and on. Anyway, I made this blog for the people who don't know Will Smith very well and are interested in his music. The following songs are in my opinion his best and you should definitely check them out:

    * Just Cruisin'
    * Will 2K
    * Men in Black
    * Summertime (by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince)
    * Afro Angel
    * Who Am I
    * Ms. Holy Roller
    * Boom! Shake the Room (by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince)

    I guess I could name some more, like Miami, Freakin' It and Gettin' Jiggy Wit It.. But you should check him out for yourself, especially the album Willenium will be kind to your ears.. So, enjoy! And if you like my advice, be so kind to let me know, so I'll know whether I should write more of these music-blogs.

  • Remarkable voices in hiphop

    Ago 19 2009, 19h53

    Of course every voice is different, you'll recognize most rappers' voices in a second. Jeezy, DMX, Kanye, Weezy.. But there are some rappers I started listening to mostly because I loved how their voice sounded, and in the following cases these rappers actually turned out to be good lyrically and delivery-wise. With great producers behind them and interesting collaborations, these rappers make music that is definitely worth checking out. Here comes the list.

    Ludacris
    Clipse
    Lord Infamous
    KNOC-TURN'AL
    Snoop Dogg
    Warren G
    Chyna Whyte
    Koopsta Knicca
    Young Zee

    Oh and the following artist attracted me simply because of one song (Hot (feat. Pusha T & Boo-Bonic)). Check his solo-music or appearances on Clipse and Pharrell songs out, he's dope!
    Rosco P. Coldchain

    1. Cynthia: Her remix album is wack, I can't understand why she gave permission to release that shit.. It's such a disappointment compared to all the hot stuff. PLUS: she's too old to still try to look sexy in pictures ;-)
    2. Three 6 Mafia: Well that's easy. They sold out, went commercial and that SUCKS.
    3. Foxy Brown: She shouldn't wear a tight dress if she looks fat in it.
    4. 宇多田ヒカル (Utada Hikaru): I can't get into a lot of tracks. But that's probably my problem cause Utada is great..
    5. Trish Thuy Trang: Her outfits are TOO crazy.
    6. Chyna Whyte: She keeps saying that she doesn't suck dick or lick nuts. We kinda already understood it the first time you said it :)
    7. 浜崎あゆみ (Ayumi Hamasaki): Her singing voice is simply annoying/weird. I listen to her mostly because some DJ's did good jobs on remixing her songs.
    8. Koopsta Knicca: Him in a room with 3 white boys talking slick about Three 6 Mafia = a NO NO!!
    9. 2Pac: I don't like his disses towards East Coast artists. It's kinda hypocrite since he used to be down with them. R.I.P.
    10. t.A.T.u.: They have nasty pics. They can't sing. They have a video in which one of them is masturbating. That's disgusting.
    11. Tila Tequila: She's a slut and she pretended to be in love with Bobby.
    12. morning musume (Morning Musume): They're childish and most of them can't really sing at all.
    13. Cibo Matto: They're weird. They have songs that should be considered art because musically seen they really are horrible.
    14. Sweetbox: The songs they made when Jade was in the group are too soft (most of them).
    15. La Chat: No disrespect, but when I first saw the Dramatize album cover I thought it was a joke. But it wasn't. She's just ugly.
    16. Mindless Self Indulgence: They say the n-word in a song. They have too many short songs.
    17. Scooter: That dude can't rap. He should stop trying. Just talk, but please don't rhyme because it makes you look stupid.
    18. Rasheeda: She sold out. She used to be all about that ghetto, getting crunk shit... Now she's all about fashion and sex. I don't like that.
    19. Amber: My favorite song by her turned out not to be her.. So she shouldn't even be at the 19th position cause I scrobbled songs as Amber which weren't Amber songs.
    20. 後藤真希 (Maki Goto): I'm still kinda confused as to why she's in this position in my list. I don't remember why I liked her so much at first. Probably because she was one of the first 3 Japanese artists I started listening to (the other two are Utada Hikaru (Utada Hikaru) and Mai Kuraki (Mai Kuraki)).

    Name/Nickname: SyntaxE

    Favourite J-Pop male artist: Tsunku?? It's probably the only one I know LOL.
    Favourite J-Pop female artist: Maki Goto, ayumi hamasaki and Utada Hikaru. I think especially Hikki.
    Favourite J-Pop group: morning musume, DUH!
    Favourite J-Pop song: Country Musume - Uwaki na Honey Pie
    Favourite J-Pop album: Foxxi misQ - Gloss
    Favourite J-Pop PV: I don't really watch JPOP videos but if I must pick one, I think I prefer Go Girl! Koi no Victory by morning musume

    Which artist got you into J-Pop: Utada Hikaru is the first Japanese artist I ever listened to, but I became a fan because of Maki Goto and Mai Kuraki.
    Artist/group you really can't stand: Hahahaha.. I cannot stand male singers that try to sound emotional or lil ass boys trying to sound kawaii. My JPOP needs to be female!
    Most ichiban kawaii of them all: Ai Kago
    Most like to be J-Pop idol boyfriend/girlfriend: Ai Takahashi. I'd be bisexual.

    How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood: Not much because it would feel sorry for the trees, since it knows what it feels like to be chopped...
