Thought I'd start using this journal thing to write about pointless things that no-one cares about.

Lately, I've been mostly listening to a handful of bands:
Jack Off Jill
I only got into them recently, but I just can't get enough of them. It's such a shame they broke up, and scarling. are no substitute. Check out the Clear Hearts Grey Flowers album, especially my favourites: "Love Song", "Nazi Halo", "Strawberry Gashes", and "Vivica."

Iron Maiden
I have a new favourite Maiden album each week. I love Brave New World and Dance of Death as much as I love their best 80's albums. The past few days I've started listening to their discography in chronological order, but I'm currently stalled at No Prayer for the Dying. After Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (which is one of my all-time favourite Maiden albums), their next few albums are just such disappointments. I also got the Rock in Rio DVD the other week and loved it to bits. It's so great to see they're still a force to be reckoned with.

Nightwish
After watching the End of Innocence DVD, I love this band more than ever. Century Child is by far my favourite album, with Wishmaster second. Really wish From Wishes to Eternity was released a year or two later, so it had Century Child stuff on there. Oh well, End of Innocence has some live footage at least, which is excellent, I'll add.

Kidneythieves
Again, such a shame this band broke up. Zerospace is one of my favourite albums, and Free's voice is just sublime. I've yet to check out her solo stuff, because it's damn hard to get hold of. I also heard a Shocknina song on their website and was pretty disappointed.

Sonata Arctica
I just can't get enough of Reckoning Night. The more I listen to it, the more I discover, and the more I like it.

Also, I am desperately in need of a guitar. In hindsight, selling mine was the dumbest thing I ever did. I'm not buying anything until I get a guitar.
