Note: My #1 and #2 albums of the year are 100% serious additions to the list (see my last 12 months charts); however, people who haven't seen the show yet will probably not care for / like those two albums that much at all, so they can just pretend my album of the year is NOIR.

You should get that NACP EP even if you're not a fan of MLP, as it doesn't actually have anything to do with the show itself other than the titles; electronic/ambient/neoclassical stuff that could easily be the soundtrack to a dark fantasy movie or a video game.
Stuff I still have on my wishlist that actually look promising: new Atmosphere, A Storm Of Light, Battles, Beirut, Beyond Creation, Bohren & der Club of Gore, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Collapse Under The Empire, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Death, Deerhoof, Iceage, Insomnium, Jedi Mind Tricks, Jesu, Kayo Dot, Leprous, Long Distance Calling, Marissa Nadler, Peste Noire, Textures, Thulcandra, Tombs, Toro Y Moi, Turisas, TV on the Radio and Vildhjarta.
