Sobre mim

I am a Canadian and a lover of most forms of music. As you can tell, my preferences are heavily rooted within Metal, most specifically Thrash, Death and Gothic subgenres. Despite being a huge fan of Metal, I do not appreciate the label of Metalhead. I feel that what was once a name that fans of metal could take pride in for what it represented now speaks more negatives about the fanbase and overall scene of metal. Closed-mindedness and Elitism reigns supreme among the average Metalhead, and this is not something I wish to be linked to. I do not care for the whining about bands selling out, especially when you rarely have points to back them up, and I do not care for an inability to accept other genres, ideas and concepts. Metal fans used to be able to take pride in sticking out from the crowd, for being the ones that were more open-minded, mature, and respected complex and intricate music. It seems that the average Metal fan now believes that no music is good unless it is as fast and brutal as can be, and that all who disagree is a poser. It's ridiculous logic. Open up your mind, there's so much more music out there that you can appreciate. Within and Outside of Metal, there's so much to see. Stop worrying about your pathetic pseudo-toughguy attitude and how you come across to others, and stop adding fuel to the bad reputation that Metal fans have developed because of this absurd behavior.

and on one final note, I do not mind if you choose to comment on my wall to discuss a band or want to converse about anything else intelligent. However, comments such as randomly shouting a band name, or notifying me to whether or not you like my tastes in music will be deleted and ignored. What makes you think you're so special that I honestly give a damn what you think about my tastes? My tastes are my own, and I did not get Last.fm simply to show off how 'tr00' I am like the majority of the people leaving those comments do. I got it to meet like-minded fans of music who like to have conversations and chat about music. If you are willing to discuss a band, by all means, feel free. But Spam will be deleted on sight.
