  • I don't know how this happened.

    Abr 26 2006, 4h51

So we've hit 10000 tracks! Let's analyze my musical tastes at this oh so important marker in the road we call last.fm:

    Guided by Voices - 405

    Modest Mouse - 379

The Olivia Tremor Control - 289

    Pavement - 241

    The Microphones - 234

    Neutral Milk Hotel - 227

    The Decemberists - 203

    The Mountain Goats - 160

    Elliott Smith - 156

    Belle and Sebastian - 155

    Comments:
Man I'm awesome, only took me a little over 5 months to get to 10000. Pats on the back for me.

    Predictions:
Decemberists, Elliott Smith, and Belle and Sebastian have all kinda faded on me recently so I don't expect them to be there for 20000. Or maybe I'll just wipe everything and just listen to Will Smith. I haven't decided yet.
  • Music, ruined

    Abr 7 2006, 4h33

Stars and sons by Broken Social Sceneis one of the greatest songs to be released in the past couple of years. But my ipod doesn't think so. It likes to cut the song out right when it gets to the clapping part. God, that clapping part makes the song.

Another thing about ipods that gets on my nerve: after every song there's a slight pause. This completely ruins Neutral Milk Hotel's and the aforementioned Broken Social Scene's albums because of the songs that flow into each other are interrupted by that heart-stopping split second of silence. It makes me want to smash my ipod on the pavement. Despite this, I see cds dying out within the next 10-15 years.

    Hooray for technology!
  • Jazz and alcohol.

    Mar 24 2006, 5h19

Why don't more people listen to jazz? It's a damn shame. Underappreciated genre. Everyone should try to at least listen to one album a week. I do and I think it makes my life happier, maybe? I don't know...

Anyways, my favorite is John Coltrane. He always seems to get the job done.

    *sigh*

In other news, Guided by Voices have been creeping in on Modest Mouse and I think might dethrone them soon. This is a momentous occasion which can only be celebrated by mass consumption of alcohol. Subsequently, there will be many a drunken GBV sing-a-longs. Very fitting I'd say. Stay tuned for more updates regarding GBV and alcohol consumption.

How much do I love the internets? Well it hath given me the new Calexico album, which is just the greatest thing as of 2006. Also! Islands, which is undiscribable by words and possibly those little picture-y fonts all the kids are using. Those crazy kids.

  • Thoughts and Blabbery

    Dez 13 2005, 4h54

Well The Decemberists have finally signed to a major label (who didn't see it comin?) I don't think it'll change my opinion of the band; it'll just take some getting used to seeing those target commercials pimping the good old d's now. Anyways, welcome to all my friends who have finally discovered lastfm! Another thing: I just realized calexico did that cover of corona which was done by the minutemen which is the theme to jackass hehe, it's not bad too! OK that is all friends, night!
