And listen to the Pastels too, a brilliant 80's Scottish indie band with an extremely perfunctory sound. 'Nothing to be done' & 'Crawl Babies'

And a very underrated album you should check out it 'Veedon Fleece' by Van Morrison, in my opinion better than 'Astral Weeks' with that same mystical vibe. Also another album that I'd honestly say is up there in terms of my favourite albums of last 10 years is 'Last Day of Summer' by White Denim. They put it out for free and its probably their least known, but its brilliant. Lovely little vocal hooks and swift transitions into jazz and the tightest rhythms known to man.

Already well acquainted with the Soundways compilation in question. Downloaded some albums by artists you've listened to that I hadn't heard of/listened to. So far I've enjoyed those throat singing fellas, Com Truise and Ween. Check out a song called 'Lawman' by Girl Band, heard that today for the first time and it was rather enjoyable. There's also a very good underground Canadian band called Weed (not the most googlable of names) who put out an album called deserve last year. Also check out their 'with drug/eight EP'. Another not so well known band that I rate is Wild Moth, check out their album 'Over, Again'. If you like Mongolian throat singing you might like 'le mystere des voix bulgares', a Bulgarian female folk choir singing traditional arrangements that sound like the medieval pagan equivalent of Animal Collective.

Maybe we could learn something from one another. I'm moving from the UK to Ghana for a few months very soon so I could do with some suggested listening to download whilst I have reliable internet etc. There are a few artists in your top listened that I've not listened to (Decoder Ring, Cloud Cult) so I probably will download some of their stuff, got any album recommendations or playlists I can check out? In return I will hit you up with some interesting music

On it! I've been on a 70's kick lately: Fleetwood Mac's Tusk/Mystery to Me & CCR's Pendulum have been the highlights of that decade. Jumping ~20 years Spacemen 3's Recurring is one of the better albums I've listened to recently. And as for recent shtuff Forest Swords' Engravings is purty sweet too. Now your turn: rec me some rekkids!
