Great Name! I remember is getting Paradise Theater on LP, and how cool was that itched design on side two of the cover? CD's just can't do that kind of cool stuff, and Styx was one of the best with always keeping you guessing what to expect next... take care!

Sobre mim

I am a music junkie. I don't know how it happened. I grew up like most teenagers listening to the radio and saving my dollars to buy an album here and there. Those were the days werent they? When you bought "albums". The smell of the vinyl as you peeled back the shrinkwrap. I still remember my first one, my sister bought me Styx's Paradise Theatre for my birthday. I think I was 15, I know I was a freshman in High School. I never had the urge to be in a band, heck I gave up the flute in grade school after 2 days but once I was old enough to get into clubs I loved to go see live music. Didnt matter much who it was or what they played, I loved watching their emotions as they sung from their hearts or the sheer excitement of just being out there playing.

The years have sped by and its harder to find clubs with live music these days but at least when I do they dont check my ID. Coworkers claim I'm stuck in the 80's but I'm not so sure thats a bad place to be. Gas was under a buck and you always had enough pockets in your parachute pants to carry exact change for the cigerette machines.

A few years ago, I use to drag my kids to see concerts with me and now I find I'm tagging along to see what concerts they are going to. My son has made me proud in his music choices. He likes it all, just like mama. He is a huge Beatles fan and can tell you who sings just about every song that comes on the classic rock station. He's also into Relient K, a christian rock band and Offspring which I dont think is a christian rock band, lol. My daughter seems a bit more main stream with her choices and likes what most girls her age like, this being Green Day at the moment but over the summer Simple Plan was her favorite. I enjoy listening to their stuff when they are in the car with me and must admit the groups of today really write some powerful lyrics.

Both my kids turned out to be musicians. T has a flute stuffed up on a shelf collecting dust. I think she thinks its too girly to play but I wouldnt be surprised if she goes back to it in a few years. Kyle is experimenting on some brass instruments in school but they both really excel in drumming. Sometimes this is not a good thing. Like when you're woken up in the middle of the night to the sound of one of them beating out a tune they are dreaming of on their headboard. I kid you not, this actually happens, quite frequently, but what ya gonna do? Its in their blood and they're helping provide the soundtrack to my life. Personally, I think its good enough to win a grammy :)
