Excellent The Pineapple Thief I am sure will hit you and stay with you. Just spent the weekend at a Pendragon album launch party (if you havent already heard them check em out). Fantastic weekend and there were a few younger people out there so all is not lost here. Take care Steve

Your story is interesting because it's not too far from my own, although I am much older. I had gotten to a stage where I was becoming bored with music, not having any exposure beyond classic rock as well. It was while I was looking in a local CD shop to get a present a friend had requested for his birthday that I first heard Porcupine Tree. The store was in the midst of playing the entire Deadwing CD when I walked in. I was immediately hooked and have been a fan ever since. From Porcupine Tree and several of their fans' recommendations I've found and been directed to many other great bands, including Marillion. As for their new record, I think it's one of their best. Although I hesitate to pick out one track as my favorite, if I had to it would probably be The Man from Marzipan.

Porcupine Tree, Rush and Marillion in your top three. You have magnificent musical taste. I'm always interested to learn how people came across Porcupine Tree, as they're still not the most widely known band out there (although they should be). Care to share your story?
