Well, for me powermetal is all about the uplifting and inspirational factor of the music rather than anything else and Dragonforce are just one band who do it well and have had a lot of success through it(although I must admit i'm not a big fan of the last two albums. The first two are awesome though). I think Dragonforce's worst decision was signing with Roadrunner...a label that is highly associated with talentless nu-metal crap. Think the thing that winds me up when people talk about power metal is this belief that all the bands sound the same and there is nothing original... for myself i'd rather hear good music played well than slag everything off in the overrated belief that all bands must be original (and then these people go listen to some dodgy black metal album recorded for about 3p in some norwegian forest! lol).

Hey have you heard Northern Kings? If you like Sonata Arctica/Nightwish/Terasbetoni/Charon all their singers sing in it. They basically do metal covers of 80's stuff. It's great :D Thought you might like it.

A little about me?
Well i'm a BA Computer Games Design Graduate and currently live in Huddersfield which has become a brilliant home for me.
I like a range of Music but tend to listen to alot of Power Metal, Heavy Metal and Hard Rock.
My three most important Bands are Iron Maiden, Queen and X-Japan. Iron Maiden basically shaped my music taste, Queen were perhaps the first band I ever really liked and X-Japan has truely warmed to me, I can never get sick of listening to their music it is brilliant.
I'm interested to meet people who love Metal like me and fans of Japanese Music like Dir En Grey, Malice Mizer and DIO.
