How long are you planning to stay? Are you going to visit other places as well? Amsterdam? See and do some typical Dutch things: tulips (it's not the season actually), windmills and smoke a joint? :-P no just kidding. Probably your GF has some things she would like to show you from her earlier visits. Anyway, hope you will enjoy your time here! I see you listened to Tori this week, to the ADP album. What do you think of it? As for Anathema's Distant Satellites, I really love it especially the titlesong is really great! Though I don't love it as much as Weather Systems, that still remains my favourite album. I haven't seen the Universal DVD yet, only listened to the songs and those are great!. But I don't think they used the recording from the NL after all... Only the picture on the front was taken at that concert. Have a nice week and nice weekend as well! Few weeks left before university starts again I guess, so enjoy!

Hi Andrew! How are you? Here it's busy as well, working working working... pfff ;-) Great that you teach children about physics! Is it "for fun" or because they need to improve their grades at school? I always think it's good to learn children about science at a young age so they see that its not complicated and boring, but interesting and fun as well. Here in NL summer is quite good, we have very nice weather. I'm not going on holiday, but I took some days off just to do things and enjoy the weather etc. In September I will go to London to see Kate Bush performing live! Looking forward to it! It's really great you and your girlfriend can come to see TG live. I'm very curious as well how it will be: once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see TG with Anneke again I guess. We (friend and me) will only go to the evening concert. So we can meet in the afternoon! I have no idea if there is anything to do in Nijmegen, it's not a big city haha, but we'll find out. See next

Hi Andrew! I also have tickets for The Gathering on the 9th of November! I guess we were lucky cause it is already sold out, but they will do a second show, which is actually before the first show, in the afternoon :-) I hope you will manage to get all the money for the flights and stay etc. Maybe we can meet each other, if you'd like. When you need more information about certain things in the NL, like public transport, hotels, etc. feel free to ask! As for Tori's new album, I really like it, especially certain songs (16 Shades of Blue, Oysters, Unrepentant Geraldines, Promise and Trouble's Lament). The live concert was truly amazing, I enjoyed every second of it! The album cover is awful indeed, although she looks a bit less "plastic" here compared to the previous albums. Have a nice day!

Hi Andrew! How are you? It certainly is a long time ago. :-) Sorry for not responding to your last message! I'm busy indeed, and I don't use Last.fm so often anymore. As about your news: it's funny but I didn't hear anything about it yet! Apparently this kind of news spread much faster abroad :-) I would like to go, though I can't find anything about the exact locations, dates and times. So when they're announced I'll see if I can buy tickets. Yes we're lucky here ;-) especially when it's about metal music. (Although The Gathering has announced to have a break :-( ) Really great you are planning to come to the NL in 2015!!! Hopefully there will be more concerts planned around that time so you can combine some. And of course there are other great things to see here :-) As for me (musically) I am waiting for Tori's new album which will be released in a week and of course the concert end of this month. Btw: great new profile picture! Looks like a professional photoshoot! Nice weekend!

.... But we have had our own small hurricane in the NL. Luckily it didn't visit the city I live in. It was probably not as bad as the one you had (I don't think ours had a name), but it caused a lot of damage to houses and threes. I think we had the most stormy autumn in a long time. Great that you visited Moonspell. I also only know the song with Anneke. According to my profile I listened to 2 other songs as well, but I can't say they left any impression :-) Just a pity that you couldn't get any autographs :-( I wish you lots of luck with all the theater business and with preparing for your part (even though it's a small one). And have a nice weekend!

Hi Andrew, thanks for the message and no need for apologies! So there is a lot going on in your life! I didn't know that you were doing doll theater for kids as well. I don't really know what it means exactly, it sounds like a nice thing to do but also quite some responsibility to run your own theater. And singing in a rock band! Wow! That is great news as well! I hope you will have time (and money) to take vocal lessons. Your life sounds so exciting compared to mine, haha. But I'm not such an extrovert person, so I stick to working (why does it takes so much time :-P), doing yoga (maybe become a teacher one day), reading, a bit of swimming and biking, cooking (I found out recently that I really like that as well, though I am not quite good in it, not yet anyway). Oh and listening to music of course :-) I hope to go to see Anneke again next year and Agnes Obel. As for the weather: it's getting better now here. Today is a really nice autumn-day, even a bit sunny.

Hey Andrew, didn't hear from you for some time. How are you doing? Busy with studying? I'm pretty busy myself, with work and other things. Sometimes I wish there were more hours in a day (and not working hours I mean ;-) ) Autumn has really started here in NL: it's raining all day and we also had a few storms. How is the weather over there? Unfortunately I don't have much news about music. I'm really enjoying the new album of Agnes Obel, but I know it's not really your kind of music. No concerts at the moment (no money left after buying an apartment... :-P ). So musically, things are quiet and boring over here ;-) I hope you are doing better :-) Have a nice week!

(Aaaaaah.... when do they stop with this character limit, it's so annoying...). So all of these beautiful Live-songs were kind of stripped until nothing was left of them anymore. It was like he was saying: look I am this good, I don't need a band at all, I can do it all by myself. A bit too arrogant I think. My boyfriend and I both had the same feeling, so we left before the end of the concert. Really disappointing. But the support act was quite nice ;-) so we didn't go there completely for nothing :-). And coming Wednesday Fleetwood Mac! (I am seeing a lot of elderly people lately.... ;-) ) But it will be fun hearing all this classic songs I know so well from the radio. :-) Do you have any more concerts planned for the coming months? Or was this weekend enough for the rest of the year? ;-) Have a nice week!

Really great you saw Floor live!!! And all those other metal bands. Sounds like a very busy, but really great weekend (or 4 days)! :-) I hope I will see the photos with ReVamp and Floor here on your profile soon :-) As for my recent concerts: Peter Gabriel was really great. I actually went more for my boy-friend than for myself, cause I'm not that a big fan of Peter Gabriel. But he did such a great show. It was divided in 3 parts: 1: acoustic, 2: more electronic and 3: his album "So" in its entirety. He did such a lot of songs, over 2 hours in total I think. And he had really good musicians in his band, most of them very old, haha. So, except for a few songs (too experimental) I enjoyed it very much. The other concert I went to recently was Ed Kowalczyk, but that was very disappointing. It was supposed to be acoustic, but it wasn't. It was basically him (with 1 other guy) doing all Live-songs with only 1 rhythm guitar and a bit of bass. (see next)

Hi André, How are you? I must say I am very busy as well, with working and doing all these small redecoration-things in my new apartment. But overall, I'm fine. And yes, I've listened to Anneke's new album Drive! First thought was: it rocks! and it's really positive and I like it. But after I listened the album 2 times I could already sing along with some of the songs, especially the who-o-o's. And I don't see that as a good sign. The songs are really catchy, but they are a bit too simple imo and some of them sound a lot like her previous album. But I have to listen a bit more to form a good opinion. You're right about Mental Jungle though. I really like this song. I like the atmosphere and the Arabic/Turkish (I don't know exactly) sounds. It makes it very special and different from the other songs. I also like "My Mother Said", I think it's really beautiful. It reminds me a bit of "Circles", though I like Circles better. (see next message...)

... at the end I really wanted to go back home. Especially because the last 2 days it was raining all day so there was nothing we could do (except for reading and watching dvds/tv). But overall we had 2 weeks of very good weather: sunny, 20+ degrees. I think that's quite rare for England, so we've been lucky :-) How is the weather in St Petersburg? Here in NL autumn has begun: only rain showers and wind all day :-( but I have to start working tomorrow anyway. Thanks btw for Tori's birthday wishes ;-) I didn't know it was her birthday on the 22nd of August. :-) Btw: Tori is living in the South-West of England, somewhere in an old farm near the area where we had our Holidays! I couldn't find out where it was exactly (guess they like to keep it a secret :-P) and unfortunately we didn't meet her by coincidence, which would have been really cool haha. Have a nice week as well!

Hi Andrew, How are you? We returned from our 3 weeks (!) Holidays in England last Sunday, so that's why I didn't scrobble much these past weeks. (And also because my iPod is broken :-( but hopefully it can be repaired...) How are you doing? How are things going at the university? And with theater rehearsals? I moved into my new apartment about a month ago. It really was a lot of work: I have much more furniture and stuff than I thought :-D so we had to drive back and forth a few times, not to mention taking everything up 3 floors via the stairs. But we managed, and I am really glad living here with so much space all for myself. :-) Redecoration is almost complete, except for some small things: proper lightning, things to hang on the wall etc. but those can be done later on. Holidays were good as well. Especially the week in London was really great. I've seen all the famous places! Cornwall (South-West of England) was really beautiful as well, but 2 weeks was a bit too long...

I went to the Antimatter + Anathema concert last week and it was really really great! Antimatter was kind of the support act, but I really liked it. It's actually not a band, but just one singer/guitar player. He brought his background singer Vic Anselmo who also played the piano. It was kind of acoustic, but so great. Just the voice of this guy, so powerful, I really liked it. And then Anathema... not with the full band but only the brothers Danny and Vincent Cavanagh and singer Lee Douglas. They were also really really great! Those 2 brothers are such great musicians, but at the same time they were really funny and completely crazy and improvising things during the whole show. So the interaction with the audience was really great. I think the complete concert was over 3 hours (both Antimatter and Anathema). Next day at work I was quite tired, but it was really worth it! And now it's weekend, so I have time to get some extra sleep. ;-) Have a nice weekend!

Thanks for the video's of Floor and Irene. I quite liked the song of After Forever. I did remember it vaguely, but apparently it never made a big impression on me. Maybe I'll try those 2 albums you mentioned, whenever I'm a bit more in a metal mood. I didn't know it was Floor's sister on the Human Equation... I actually thought it was Floor... well anyway she has a really great voice as well! Floor has actually appeared in a Dutch television show about classical music, performing some part of an opera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeTyAZtV5wI . It is not really my kind of music, but what a voice! Btw. Anneke was on this show as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-ZbkEErTMs. It's great as well, but different. Personally I think Floor's voice is much better on opera. (Oh I hate this character limit!)
