Music for a rainy evening.

The other day, blackiex and I made each other a playlist on the theme "music for a rainy evening".
The instructions were: only one track per artist, and between 12 and 20 tracks total.

Here are our respective playlists.

Mine: (yes, I'm starting with myself. Gasp.)
1. Emilie Simon - Il Pleut
2. Cowboy Junkies - Sweet Jane
3. Serge Gainsbourg - La Javanaise
4. The Doors - You're Lost, Little Girl
5. Firewater - I Often Dream of Trains
6. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Henry Lee
7. The Cure - Let's Go To Bed (Accoustic Version)
8. Edith Piaf - Sous le ciel de Paris
9. Rolling Stones - Time Is On My Side
10. Georges Brassens - Le parapluie
11. Lee Ranaldo - Stephanie Says
12. Radiohead - Talk Show Host
13. Charlotte Gainsbourg - The Songs That We Sing
14. The Beta Band - Dry the Rain
15. Simon and Garfunkel - Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall
16. Air - Alone in Kyoto
17. Carla Bruni - Le ciel dans une chambre
18. Urge Overkill - Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon
19. Lou Reed - Perfect Day
20. The Section Quartet - Exit Music (For a Film)
BONUS TRACK (I cheated): Mark Z. Danielewski & Poe - Just Another Drive (Hey Pretty)

Interestingly, six of my 21 songs are from movie soundtracks.

Onto Scott's:
1. Swans - God Damn the Sun
2. Link Wray - Alone
3. Agents of Oblivion - A Song That Crawls
4. Jeff Buckley - Demon John
5. 28 days later - In The House - In A Heartbeat
6. Katatonia - Nightmares by the Sea
7. Sluts of Trust - Leave You Wanting More
8.Smithereens - Blood and Roses
9.Opeth - Face of Melinda
10. Avec Tristesse - Through My Eyes
11. System of a Down - Lost In Hollywood
12. Bitchslicer - Long Live The End (Lost Boy Project)

Obviously we weren't picturing quite the same kind of rain. Although it comes as no surprise that his rain would be angrier than mine. I'm also astonished that he managed to only put twelve songs (the minimum!) in there. Choosing only 20 was hell for me, and I still had to include a 21st.

I suppose the whole thing would be a lot more interesting if we didn't already own pretty much all of each other's mp3 collection, but it was a lot of fun. Expect another post like this one, because I will hound him until we do it again (with a different theme, obviously).
