Hey, my name is Matt, I live in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. I like to watch films, listen to music, read, and have discussions about politics and pop culture...and anything in between. I'm kind of reserved and a bit eccentric, and, naturally because of this, I'm a writer. I go to College taking Canadian Studies, which is a catch-all for politics, history and literature.

Probably the best movie I've seen in a while is 'Being John Malkovich'. But, I like anything interesting and coherent - as well as musicals and John Hughes films. I spent most of my life listening to oldies and classic rock, but I'm fairly diverse - the only catch-all genres I dislike are speed metal and gangsta rap. Lately, I've found myself drawn to Soul music and modern folk, electronica and indie pop. My favourite band is Genesis and my current favourite album is "Songs of Leonard Cohen". My favourite album released last year (2010) was The Apples in Stereo's "Travellers in Space and Time" followed by "The Five Ghosts" by Stars.

I like music from the 1920s onward, and I was a major fan of Top 40 music from 1964 to 1987. Precious little pop music since the late 80s has done much for me.
