Other than the band gaining in popularity and slight changes in style from album to album, I don't understand what all the fuss is about over them. I think most metalheads against them are just completely against any kind of accessibilty that band starts to inherit. It's their loss.

Well, when I say old I kind of meant their middle eras too but oh well. For Dimmu my favorites are EDT, For All Tid, SBD and PEM (in that order). In Sorte Diaboli is definitely good. It is weak in some parts but the high points are excellent. Hellhammer helps too for sure. And I'm glad they decided to ditch the orchestra for now.
