Excellent. Well at least I'll always know we are very highly compatible musically. I just recently started using Last.fm again to find shows and such

I'm not terribly keen on Zion's songs, I dig their instrumental work a ton, but the vocals don't sit very well with me. Although, I have adjusted my ears to stranger sounds. I will definitely check out all you have recommended, and yes that's an image from City of Lost Children. I have seen Brazil, definitely a top notch film, it might be making a guest appearance when I extend my little movie image list to ten.

SS has been known to rock from time to time with Mt Zion, I think I'll be checking more of their material out now. As this style of music has become my fetish this passed month. Svankmajer became my hero over night, I was browsing the fantasy section of this movie site and saw "Alice," given my love of all things Wonderland/Looking Glass oriented, I had to check it out and boy did that movie ever spin my head. I've since looked up everything Svankmajer has ever done, and ventured more into Lynch's material, as he was the only other surrealist director that popped in my head right away. I've watched his entire filmography this month, just finished The Lost Highway earlier today. If you happen to know any other killer surrealist directors, send them my way, I'm totally digging this style of film right now.

(Cont.) Man, I'm so glad I did! After listening to it again a couple times, it all came together for me and I was like, "Ah, now I see what I was missing." One of my favorite songs on the album is "Up On Your Leopard, Upon the End of Your Feral Days." Oh my god, that song is so fucking good! And then it leads right into "The Courtesan Has Sung," which I love. So yeah, I just wanted to tell you about all that. Haha. And seriously, as each day passes, I fall more and more in love with "Dragonslayer." I said before that it would be in the Top 5 of my favorite albums of 2009. Now I'm thinking it'll be in my Top 3.

Remember when I told you I was having a hard time getting into "Random Spirit Lover," and you told me it took a little while to grow on you as well, but you ended up loving it. Well, I just wanted to let you know that the album finally grew on me. Haha. First, I listened to it and it was okay, but I didn't love it as much as "Shut Up I Am Dreaming." And I was surprised that it was taking me so long to get into "Random Spirit Lover," because I fell in love with "Shut Up I Am Dreaming" after the first listen. Anyway, I continued to listen to it three or four more times, and I just couldn't get into it. It wasn't clicking for me, so I gave it a break and went off to other things. And I know I told you before that I'm in love with their new album, and since I've been listening to that for a while, I decided now was a good time to go back and give RSL another chance.

Yeah I've been listening to Do Make Say Think a bit more lately and Mt. Zion is one of those associated bands so I was giving them a spin here and there. I've been wandering back to my Last FM account again and I have noticed that lately you seem to be listening to them a lot so that sort of bolstered my interest. I still need to go out and get a real album though as it all just seems so disjointed unless I can sit back and just listen to an album from start to finish. Thanks for the tips though when I can next make it to a real music store I'll be sure to pick up an album or two although last time I spent all my store credit on some silent films I really needed -- 'cause I always really need more silent films. >_>

Yeah Dan told me a while ago. Gotta do what's right for you dude! I just am going nuts from constantly being in class for over a year straight now..I need insane break. LOL plus my bro gets back from iraq september so with him just being back, i can spend more time with him. Another reason I might do it. he will be out in pittsburgh for 2 weeks in september once he gets back. The guy has 100 days of vacation which is insane.
