Thats because at the time he had composed these, the nazi regime had already fallen in germany, so he didn't get many chances to present his work to a country that was in crisis

its the requiem, well I was going to listen to it again now. But on my first impression I really liked how he combines the voices to give it some kind of dreamlike feeling. Also I loved this one in which he starts with deep male voices and ends in mezzo soprano. Also I liked Tuba Mirum, you hear it so often, but most people have no idea who composed it (kinda like pink panther). ran out of space.
