Yeah, that was really cool. Have you heart the new version of "Cycles du Nord" zorn released this year? It has Reed doing guitar feedback and percussion added to the chaos, but actually makes it easier listening and not as much an endurance test. Listening to Zorn's entire discography? For me, that's not really a hard thing to do, i'll do it naturally. Only reason I haven't done it is because I haven't heard every masada release and I haven't heard a couple of the birthday albums. That is, if you don't include collaborations. I haven't listened to the Nani Nani with Yamantaka Eye or his collab with Bobby Previte yet.

I could rant about Zorn and his projects all day without ever repeating the same things. Huge diverse discography provides lots and lots of observations and things to discuss. Name any Zorn album that seems obscure to you, and I will provide some comments as to what makes that album a rewarding listen. I've found that when listened to in the right mindset, an album can be very rewarding. But if in the wrong mindset, it can be horrible. Same with moods. Speaking of moods, I'm always in the mood for Zorn's music.

have you listened to any of Naked City's other albums, besides the self-titled? Grand Guignol, Radio, Heretic, Absinthe, Leng T'che. I don't mean to sound like a fanboy but each of 'em are pure masterpieces. Heretic and Radio are especially overlooked. Radio because it seems a like they tried to redo the debut, but it's way different. The ideas are stretched out longer, but the music has a very dark underlying vehemence, different to the other albums. Heretic because it's got lots of improv, the band is divided into trios and duos, it's a soundtrack to an S/M film, obviously this is way different from other NC albums, but that doesn't make it bad at all. I'd think anyone that is very into avant-garde music would enjoy this, but it seems that people think it sucks because the other albums are "way better". Whatever. It's a different side to the most important band in musical history.

Oh, btw, have you listened to Secret Chiefs 3? If not go download all of their albums RIGHT NOW and listen to all of them. Seriously. I overlooked them for awhile, always thinking I'd check em out sometime, but now i've realized they're one of the best bands ever. Naked City;s the best band ever though.
