An Ongoing Controversy: Blink-182, Angels & Airwaves, or +44?

So, people are constantly asking me which do I prefer: blink-182, Angels & Airwaves, or +44. Obviously Blink-182.

I believe Blink-182's style of music is greatly different than +44's style of music or Angels & Airwaves' style. They are both very alternative sounding, whereas you can definitely feel Blink-182's punk rock and pop punk sounds.

I don't particularly like Tom Delonge all that much, but I do respect him for doing what he did. If it weren't for him, I do believe Blink-182 would probably still be making great music today, but this is just a belief. He thought Blink-182 and the style of music they were making was very childish and immature, so as he was getting older, more mature, and getting into the whole fatherhood ordeal, he decided to leave Blink-182 and start a new, "more mature" band with alternative rock sounds instead of the childish punk sounds he had once created.

I don't think this was a bad idea on his part, but he could have easily stayed in Blink-182 and would have been a great father to his daughter, Ava. Tom's new band, Angels & Airwaves, immediately became popular and mainstream with their hit The Adventure on their first album We Don't Need to Whisper. I really enjoyed this album, but I could tell most of their songs sounded very similar.

After some success with their first album, they released their second album I-Empire. I may get picked on for this, but I really did not particularly enjoy this album. Some of the key tracks for me were Call to Arms, Sirens, Secret Crowds, and Everything's Magic. These tracks were fairly good, but I don't believe that Tom put as much effort into it as he did with We Don't Need to Whisper. Otherwise, it was alright.

Then we have Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, who decided to make their own band called +44. I don't like +44 more than I like Angels & Airwaves, I literally like them the same. It's very hard to say when +44 only has one album released. I really loved some of the tracks though, more than I loved most of the tracks on Angels & Airwaves. I believe +44's When Your Heart Stops Beating was a very solid album, a very good release. Some amazing tracks are Lycanthrope, When Your Heart Stops Beating, 155, Baby, Come On, and No, It Isn't.

I may be saying this though because I'm overly obsessed with Travis Barker. I have some weird fascination with him. I wear his clothing line practically everyday! :P

So, that's all I have to say about the three bands. Maybe I'll write more ranting about them later when +44 releases another album. Until then, I'll keep listening to Adam's Song.

Thanks for reading if you've read this far. R.I.P. Blink!
