Describing myself is no task that I'm feeling rather comfortable with. I guess I'm always afraid that
it will either end up in an arrogant self-display or in saying "Look at my profile, though there's nothing special about me really".
Anyway, that caption says "About me" and not "Post your pictures and tagclouds here", so I'll give it a try.

Demanding. If I had to pick a word that describes me best, I guess this would be it.
It's not always easy to cope with the several hearts beating in my chest due to the manifold interests I'm cultivating.
In fact there are more things I'd like to do than one can achieve in a lifetime, I'm afraid.
But maybe I should give some...let's call it 'clerk information' about my person first.

I was seeing the light of day on Oct 31st 1988 (right, that's Halloween. Cool, eh?) in the city of Duisburg, Germany.
So while I'm now residing in Essen, I've been living in the so-called Ruhr-Area of Germany ever since.
I'm studying computer science and electrical engineering at University of Dortmund, which I'm highly interested in.
I could not imagine a study path that fits me and my interests better than this, maybe some abstract math or - of course - music.

Yes, this page is about music, right? I got faced with music at pretty early age, I guess that must have been like 5 or 6.
That was when I started playing acoustic guitar, which I still do. In teenage years I clearly focused on metal music (that's where the long hair comes from),
which is up to now one major pillar of my taste.

Over time I discovered that I was attracted to music that met one or more of these criteria.
- Mentally challenging
- dark, creepy, captivating mood
- Emotionally intense
so it's not remarkable that my musical taste spans technical death metal and industrial music (these two especially), as well as Noise, IDM, Black Metal, Jazz/Fusion, Dark Ambient, Drum'n'Bass, Breakcore, Flamenco and contemporary classic.
Most of them have solidified in my taste just recently, so they're not that much represented in my profile.

I do make music myself, but I couldn't come up with something worth sharing yet (yes, I'll put the links here when I do), mostly due to lacks of time because of my studies. This music is covering broad parts of my musical taste, yet excluding Jazz and Fusion 'cause I'm lacking the theoretical knowledge by now.
Any time recently I discovered to be highly interested in contemporary art forms, including surrealism, dadaism and most abstract and experimental trends.
That is quite astonishing because I absolutely hated them some years ago.
In order to somehow merge my different fields of interest, I'm highly interested in algorithmic and/or mathematic concepts of composition.
I'm pretty eager to gain a foothold in those areas and I'm excited what time holds in stock for me.
